#popculture #archie #jughead #sideheroes #innovation Not that I have seen the current reincarnation of 'The Archies'; but I was recently leafing through some old comics (remember them), when I stumbled upon Jughead again, one of the principal characters in Archie comics. He, of the ravenous appetite for food and very little for girls, fame. Fascinatingly, though the Archie world had its eponymous main lead, a lot of people, found the quirkiness of Jughead more endearing. Strange how often that happens in fiction, when the main hero is usurped by another cast member. Think Han Solo in the original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy. Closer home, remember how Bhiku Mhatre stole the thunder in ‘Satya’. Or how Circuit electrified in the 'Munnabhai' series. And there are many more such examples. However, this presents an interesting parallel in the journeys of innovation and creativity, undertaken by organizations; or for that matter, anyone else. Never discount the value of a ‘by product’. There might be something worth pursuing in it which might not easy to identify immediately. Try and look at everything in the mix separately. One never knows what might end up being useful in an unexpected way, or get popular. The by product has also gone through the same rigor, and chances are it might also be of high quality-be it physical items or ideas. Which is why it makes sense to also take cognizance of other ideas which emerge in any brainstorm. Put in Jughead terms, it simply means, fries might have started out as accompaniments to burgers. But they found enough takers and relevance, to start being sold on their own. As we all know, the side dish at the feast, might be the reason we turn up there in the first place.

7 Tips to Having Characters Speak to the Dead

I usually love to watch new series, and keep up with all the new hit shows. But every now and then, there are those "I'll save this gem for a good moment." - and then you keep saving it and saving it, and years go by. Well, one of those series was The West Wing. Which I started watching only recently. And not only do I love it, it keeps amazing me. The writing, the acting. Surely that means that the production had time and money, which makes everything better. And also it makes me a little sad too - since the issues that the fictional government raises in the series, all those issues exist still today, but times 100. What a series. = #GhostbustersFrozenEmpire, #REVIEW & LOTS of #Spoilers: -- My #RATING for #FrozenEmpire? 10/10 ! Hate to be blasmphemous but i LOVED it more than the ORIGINAL! Why? - Since original #ghostbusters #movie, global movement of acceptance &/or openness to the #Paranormal--including me, being a #paranormalinvestigator! Frozen Empire is, therefore more RELATABLE as more ppl on the globe relate with the scene re-introducing #RayStantz (#DanAydroyd) as an #investigator who, NOW, is on social media & basically runs his own version of the famed-Paranormal king & queen of modern #supernatural, the #Warrens #OccultMuseum! - Another, & more important, reason Frozen Empire is MORE relatable to this generation of movie-goers / #streaming-watchers is the #character, #PhoebeSpengler (#McKennaGrace) -- whom ends up having a brief relationship with a ghost, "created" after a deadly fire; by the name of Melody (#EmilyAlynLind). Turns out, Phoebe is either lesbian or Bi--not given explicitly in the movie, so that's why i say it this way. I say, AWESOME! Like it or not, the majority of #Millennials, #GenZers, & even a lot of #GenXers (including THIS one!) embrace our #LGBTQ-friends & family! Good for business...just saying! - Third reason why i loved Frozen Empire so much: the Environmental aspect to it! As in, (throwing in some biology, here!) the #carryingcapacity of how much "ghost forces" the Ghostbusters' #ghost-vault is able to contain?! Indeed, because of the limited space it can contain all the #ghosts they've captured since the 80s, it was "weaponized" by the antagonist, #Garraka, by breaking it open & releasing (most?) of the ghosts, #spirits, & other entities! As a result, the nice sunny Summer day (Spring?) in #NewYorkCity turns Wintery--a bit of a nod to the issue of #ClimateChange without beating our heads with it. And as a #SciFi #author, myself who's a #Progressive, trust me, it's probably best to do it that way! - Lastly, just a well-written, acted, & directed (#GilKenan) story...as i said, as an indie author, i've learned do less of the #soapbox thing & focus MORE on the #storytelling! Just a fun movie.
