Weerts Logistics Park hands over one of Hungary's largest sustainable industrial investments in Vecsés 🥂👷🏼🏗️ Weerts Logistics Park has officially handed over its newest environmentally sustainable smart hall of nearly 40,000 m² in Vecsés, Hungary, to Magna International Inc., one of the world's largest suppliers of automotive parts, on October 17th 2024. 🚗👨🏼🔧🔧 The project, one of Hungary's largest industrial investments, is a significant milestone for the industrial development of the region. Congrats, Cologne!     The transition to more sustainable logistics is a top priority for us at DACHSER. This is why we’re delighted that Cologne has just become one of many cities in Europe where we’re introducing DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery.     What’s behind it?    Reducing carbon emissions and noise in city centers is a major step toward making cities more livable—and DACHSER is proud to be playing its part: A defined area in the city center of Cologne will be exclusively served by two fully electric trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 7.49 metric tons. A smaller electric transporter will be used for deliveries in the narrow streets of Cologne’s famous “Altstadt.” All three vehicles will be charged with green electricity at our local branch.    We’ve been using battery-electric trucks since 2018, and we’re expanding our fleet of vehicles with alternative drive systems in both the short- and long-haul sectors. DACHSER currently has more than 90 zero-emission trucks on the roads across Europe. One of the main reasons I decided to move here🙌 2️⃣ 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻📍: Positioned as the gateway to Scandinavia, The Port of Gothenburg is their main port. Sweden offers excellent connectivity to European and global markets via its extensive railways, efficient ports, and well-maintained road networks. This minimizes the need for expensive terminals and streamlines delivery. • Decarbonizing from Start to Finish – The project reduces road travel by 185,000 kilometers every week, slashing CO2 emissions by up to 11,500 tonnes per year. Plus, biogenic fuels like HVO100 are used for initial and final deliveries! • Seamless Tracking – A digital control tower at Duvenbeck’s Niederaichbach site tracks every delivery across 500+ kilometers between Regensburg and Lébény, with a daily train carrying 36 trailers over this eco-efficient route. CEO hakan bicil proudly shared that climate protection and innovative partnerships are at the heart of Duvenbeck’s strategy. The project’s success reflects their commitment to decarbonizing logistics with Audi and Helrom. “Climate protection and sustainable transport solutions are fundamental elements in our corporate strategy. ✈️ We visited the facilities of Comfrio - Inteligência em Soluções Logísticas, a leading company in the refrigerated logistics sector in Brazil, to witness how EP Trucks are revolutionizing their logistics processes. One of the most impressive aspects we observed was Comfrio's transition from traditional internal combustion forklifts to our lithium EP forklifts, the models chosen were the EFL253 and EFL303.
