Pax is conducting baseline surveys and preparing a habitat suitability assessment for southwestern pond turtle (SWPT, Actinemys marmorata pallida) to determine existing conditions for Phase 1 of a multi-phased habitat restoration project under a Tribal Wildlife Grant from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. The surveys adhere to USGS and California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) guidelines for SWPT to effectively determine pond turtle presence and relative abundance, habitat suitability within a 10-acre zone, and provide replicable survey results using the same methods in future SWPT survey and monitoring efforts. The data collected from the surveys and the assessment will be used to develop a SWPT habitat restoration plan. #paxenvironmental #restoration #hiring #jobsearch #environmentalconsulting
