#ActivistLab | The present and the future of young people are at stake. They should be at the center of discussions on land rights, climate crisis, and peace, yet they have little space to participate politically. We gathered young activists from around the world in Türkiye who participated in our Activist Labs to speak about the work they are doing and to build networks of solidarity. Let's amplify their voices, support their well-being, and demand greater political inclusion! For the third consecutive year, young activists from Lebanon, in collaboration with our partners, joined forces with activists from around the world at the #Activist_Labs in Türkiye. They engaged in crucial regional discussions on issues such as #land_rights, the #climate_crisis, and the need for greater #political_participation. Lebanese #Youth must be at the forefront of addressing #Injustice and #Inequality, both nationally and internationally, for meaningful recovery. Through shared experiences, solidarity, and reflection on their challenges, these activists are building stronger networks and strategies to confront the ongoing struggles in the Middle East. #ActivistLab #CommunityAction #SocialMovements #GetInvolved #YouthInPolitics #PoliticalInclusion

Today, we celebrate "Human Rights Day" in South Africa, but perhaps "celebrate" is too stronger word with so much more to be done to build an equitable, prosperous and peaceful nation. I saw a political party billboard this week that said, "Let's do more together" and I thought ... More Corruption? More Crime? More Load Shedding? More Gender Based Violence? More Unemployment? More Poverty? None of these moves us closer to creating a society based on human rights. What we need is More Nation Building, More Schools, More Clinics, More Skills Development, More Clean Running Water, More Housing, More Jobs, More Entrepreneurs, More Investment, More Leadership, More Hope, More Kindness. While we cannot fix everything alone, our collective power is enormous. Simply start with "More Kindness" and go from there!

As we observe the Week of Solidarity with the Peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories, it's crucial to reflect on the significance of supporting these communities in their pursuit of self-determination and sovereignty. This week serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to stand in solidarity with those living in territories still striving for full autonomy and recognition on the global stage. Non-Self-Governing Territories face unique challenges, often coming from historical legacies and geopolitical complexities. Yet, their aspirations for self-governance and the realization of their rights as outlined in the United Nations Charter remain steadfast. By raising awareness and advocating for the rights of these territories, we can contribute to fostering a more just and equitable world. It's imperative that we amplify their voices, advocate for their rights, and support initiatives aimed at facilitating their path towards self-determination. Let's use this Week of Solidarity as an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the principles of democracy, equality, and human rights for all peoples, regardless of their political status. Together, we can work towards a future where every community has the opportunity to thrive and chart its own destiny. #Solidarity #SelfDetermination #UnitedNations #HumanRights #GlobalJustice https://lnkd.in/eN8v2rE4

Today is the World Day of Social Justice. According to the United Nations, “The World Day of Social Justice reminds us each year of the need to build fairer, more equitable societies.” Jangala was built on the belief that an equitable world is only achievable with equal access to the internet. How can it be any other way? Together with our partners, we take pride in our commitment to tackling the digital divide. We are enabling internet access globally for marginalised communities, working closely with organisations worldwide. An inspiring chapter in our journey is working with the Participation & Practice Of Rights (PPR) in Belfast; a human rights NGO working towards turning international human rights standards into grassroots tools for economic, social and environmental change. PPR are using 14 Get Boxes to enable internet access for refugees campaigning for their Right to Work. With the necessary tools in hand, their voices became more powerful, marking the initial step towards achieving social justice. Curious about our take on social justice? 🌍✊🇿🇦 Today, as we commemorate South African Human Rights Day, we honor the struggles and triumphs of those who fought for justice, equality, and dignity. As a financial planner, I believe that economic empowerment is intricately linked with human rights. In the journey towards financial independence and security, access to resources and opportunities plays a pivotal role. However, many individuals still face systemic barriers that hinder their financial well-being. Today, let's reflect on how we can contribute to dismantling these barriers and promoting economic inclusivity for all. Empowering clients to navigate their financial journeys with knowledge, resilience, and confidence is not just about managing money; it's about empowering them to exercise their rights to economic freedom and self-determination. Let's use this day as a reminder to advocate for financial literacy, accessibility to financial services, and fair economic policies. By doing so, we honor the spirit of Human Rights Day and work towards a future where every South African can thrive financially. #HumanRightsDay #FinancialEmpowerment #SouthAfrica #SouthAfrica #Equality #Justice #Freedom #Inclusivity #Dignity #FinancialEmpowerment #SocialJustice #EconomicEquality #Empowerment #Community #Unity #Progress #Change #Empathy #Awareness #Advocacy #Solidarity #Hope #HumanRights #SAHumanRightsDay🌍✊🇿🇦

Everyone has the right to be treated with equality, fairness, and respect. Today, we celebrate the World Day of Social Justice. A day that reminds us of the need to build fairer and more equitable societies. As we celebrate this day, you need to know that the change starts with you and me. Like Mahatma Gandhi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world" It is said that young people are the torchbearers of change, and our actions today shape the Africa of tomorrow. But the question arises: Are the current young generation in Africa adequately prepared to champion social justice? Do you think young people are ready to ensure this change in our society today? What do you think? Let's discuss. We want to hear your thoughts in the comments. Together, we can raise our voices against injustice and build a fairer and more equitable society. #worlddayofsocialjustice #bridginggaps #buildingalliances #letthechangestartwithyou #changestartswithus
