Another huge change was announced from the DOL that moves the salaried exempt threshold from the current $35,568 to $43,888 as of July 1st and $58,656 as of January 1, 2025. Employees will not be exempt from overtime if they are not paid these significantly higher values. I expect legal challenges to this ruling which may halt the deadlines above, but now is a great time to take a close look at worker classification.
