What is the difference between civil and general construction? 🤔     Civil Construction:     In a sentence, Civil Construction is all about building the infrastructure that supports a society.  🏙   From waterways, to powerplants, bridges and roads, to the foundations of high-rise buildings, every project we take on helps shape the world we live in.     This is what Civil Construction means to us, helping shape our society and improving the world we live in.       General Construction:     General Construction on the other hand focuses on building things that fit in with a society.    Once the foundations and infrastructure have been laid, it is their role to build the function of that space.     Think about a high rise apartment building. Building and construction teams would be involved in the construction of the actual building, but it is Civil teams who are required to dig the basements, do the bulk earth works, and lay the foundations to allow this to happen.     This is a great example of how both Civil and General Construction teams can work hand in hand to shape the world we live in.       At Peninsula Civil Solutions we exist to do good quality work, that helps the community, where we have a positive lasting impact on the societies we are helping to build.      #civilconstruction #construction #civil #society #learnwithus

Spanning four categories, this competition showcases our members' work while delivering major infrastructure projects. Historic Photos However, this year, we are doing things a little differently. We want to showcase your current photos but also the best from the past to help highlight the changes in technology, safety and more and take a fun trip down the projects from memory lane. 🏆Categories🏆 For each category please consider submitting current and historic photos where possible.The categories are: ➡️Projects – This category is aimed at projects currently in development and delivery. From highways to water treatment plants, construction projects can and should inspire our communities. We want to share the best images of the work that our members do as they deliver or support the delivery of major projects. ➡️People – This category is intended to showcase the people of construction and infrastructure, highlighting their talent and skill, as well as characters and relationships that make a career in infrastructure rewarding. ➡️Plant and Equipment – This category is intended to showcase the machines and equipment that support our work. What do we, Civil Engineers, do?   Yes, we design roads, bridges, buildings, sewerage systems, water treatment systems, and critical infrastructure. Yes, we obsess over quality and ethics.
