Lake Volta – Ghana #Lake Volta, the largest artificial reservoir in the world based on surface area, is contained behind the Akosombo Dam which generates a substantial amount of Ghana's electricity. It is completely within the country of Ghana and has a surface area of 8,502 square kilometres (3,283 sq mi; 2,101,000 acres). It extends from Akosombo in the south to the northern part of the country. Lake Volta lies along the Greenwich meridian, and just six degrees of latitude north of the Equator. The lake's northernmost point is close to the town of Yapei, and its southernmost extreme is at the Akosombo Dam, 520 km (320 mi) downstream from Yapei. Akosombo Dam holds back both the White Volta River and the Black Volta River, which formerly converged where the middle of the reservoir now lies, to form the single Volta River. The present Volta River flows from the outlets of the dam's powerhouse and spillways to the Atlantic Ocean in southern Ghana. The main https://lnkd.in/dw_BchTQ #NATURE #WHATTOVISITTOURISM

Special Project Director: Building capacity across Business and Industries in Africa through FDI, Partnerships and Trade
Wing Wah Oil Company’s Banga Kayo project in the Republic of the Congo has been a beacon of integration and scalability in the oil and gas sector. Aiming for 500,000 bpd, the project is currently producing 45,000 bpd and targeting 80,000 bpd at peak. It integrates advanced gas treatment, efficient water management, and local community development, providing a sustainable model for Africa. The project's phased expansion approach and scalable design ensure maximum efficiency and reduced emissions, offering a reliable energy source for local communities. Employing over 3,000 people, mostly Congolese, Banga Kayo exemplifies how international partnerships can drive African energy development. This model should be replicated across the continent to address energy poverty and promote sustainable growth. How can other regions adopt similar integrated projects to enhance energy production and sustainability? #Energy #OilAndGas #Sustainability #CommunityDevelopment #WingWah #Congo

Helping Your Business Thrive in Africa | Connecting You with Trusted Partners and Governments in Critical Minerals, Energy, Infrastructure, and Pharma.
Will Africa's $16 Trillion Critical Mineral Boom Impact the Global Economy? Is your business ready to tap into Africa's projected $16 trillion mineral market over the next 25 years? Discover the strategic opportunities this could create for global industries and African economies. Africa's vast critical mineral reserves are set to play a pivotal role in the global transition towards renewable energy and advanced technologies. 🔑 Key Insights: Sub-Saharan Africa holds 30% of the world's proven critical mineral reserves. The DRC accounts for over 70% of global cobalt output, essential for battery tech. Projected revenue from these minerals could reach $16 trillion in the next 25 years. The real value lies in local processing and refining, significantly increasing the market value of these resources. For example, processing raw bauxite into aluminum can amplify its value immensely. Investing in Africa's mineral wealth isn't just about extraction—it's about fostering sustainable development and building a resilient supply chain. This requires developing robust infrastructure and regulatory frameworks, creating favorable business environments, and enhancing regional collaborations. To investors and businesses, my advice is clear: look beyond immediate gains and commit to sustainable practices that ensure long-term benefits for both your portfolios and the African communities hosting these resources. The future is here, and Africa is ready. 🌍💡 #AfricanMinerals #RenewableEnergy #GlobalInvestment #CriticalMinerals #SustainableDevelopment
