The boundaries between segments hold tremendous potential, especially for both academic and CTE dual enrollment. Allowing this to be managed and tracked at the level of students and families, and schools and colleges is critical. However, without adequate software or personal technology these type of strategic and accessible dual enrollment options and pathways are only available to a tiny fraction of the school population and have to managed with adequate human resourcing, which is difficult in budget constrained times.

Our partnership with Living Classrooms positions Oasis Marinas and our partner, Access Holdings, to provide support and readiness training, opening doors to workforce opportunities in our growing experience economy. These opportunities encompass marina management, operations, service, maintenance, and food & beverage. We've already taken steps by hiring exceptional Living Classrooms graduates at our marinas, and this is just the beginning! Our mission, vision, and values align seamlessly with Living Classrooms. We believe that building stronger, smoother, accelerated pathways between K-12 education, postsecondary education, and careers is not only necessary to grow our economy, but also to address inequality in our communities. Our work leading the #AccelerateED community is central to this mission. We wanted to know, what would it take for every high school student to have the opportunity to earn college credits without the financial burden? To complete an associate degree one year after high school? To gain valuable experience and career preparation in a field of interest during high school? And while we are excited to tell you all about this work, instead we think it’s better to hear directly from the students who are most impacted by it. Coming back to the UCSC campus as a living lab to make a few specific points about sustainability implementation. An elaborate network of offices, labs and centers with a central Sustainbility office is set up. Components and nodes include Natural and lagoon reserves, gardens, agroecology, greenhouse arboretum, incubators and coordinators with spaces for people of Color, and such. Courses and minors in sustainability are linked to the lab to ensure experiential learning with administration’s commitments and engagement. Incubators train students and teams on multi- and trans-disciplinary supports via courses, mentorship’s, facilities, equipment and so on. Coordinators ensure communications within and without the campus. The Living Lab, Incubators and Coordinators are considered the key components of the Campus Living Lab or CLL network. Each one plays multiple roles to ensure success of learning and implementation in the phase space of theory to practice and reductionism to holism as discussed in the previous podcast. Internships and entrepreneurial learnings are key steps towards practical and holistic education and training. Skills needed before entering the program are mapped for the participants and the facilitators - safety, project feasibility evaluation, technical and organisational skills, self-learning abilities, problem-solving aptitudes, leaderships, interpersonal skills and so on. Learner preparation and exposure to experiential learning are found to be critical. Curricular gaps in complex skills must be addressed since experiential learning literature doesn’t address the gaps fully. Not surprisingly, institutional support is quintessential for CLL to succeed in its purpose, function, and for with reliability, validity and workability. Funding is an integral part of this institutional support. Good morning everyone! For those of you that I have not met, my name is Jeremiah Kelly and I serve as the Assistant Director of Campus Involvement at Wingate University. I hope you're having a fantastic week! I am creating this post with the goal of inviting you and your business to Wingate University's annual Street Fair. The event is scheduled to be held August 22nd from 5pm-7pm on the McGee Promenade (central campus), rain or shine unless unbearable weather Set-up that day will begin at 4 pm with table check-in. What is a Street Fair? This is a time on campus where all of our student clubs, campus offices and local community partners come together to table for a few hours to show our new students (and returning students) all of the different things the University and our local community have to offer. So we have clubs advertising interest meetings, we have campus offices showing positions they are hiring for. And then we have our community partners! We have local shopping boutiques coming to share their deals. Restaurants coming to promote their locations. Health care providers coming to share resources. Essentially, if you have something going on that you would like Wingate students to be aware of and participate in, Street Fair is absolutely the place for your organization For everyone who signs up to be a part of the Street Fair, - Wingate will provide one 6 ft table and two folding chairs. Anything else will need to be provided by your organization (tent, table cloth, anything additional). - Traditionally, organizations will bring info pamphlets/business cards, giveaways and things of that nature.
