What Does Memorial Day Mean to You? As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, it's important to pause and reflect on the true significance of this day. Memorial Day is more than just a long weekend or the unofficial start of summer—it's a solemn occasion to honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Reflect and Remember: Honor the Fallen: Take a moment to remember those who have given their lives in service to our nation. Their courage and dedication have protected the freedoms we often take for granted. Personal Stories: Think about the stories of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who have left behind families, friends, and communities. Their legacies live on in the hearts of those who knew them. Community Impact: Consider the impact these sacrifices have had on your community and the country as a whole. How has their service shaped the world we live in today? How Can We Give Back? Support Veterans and Families: Look for ways to support the families of fallen soldiers and the veterans who continue to serve our country. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply offering a kind word, every action counts. Educate the Next Generation: Share the importance of Memorial Day with younger generations. However, you can also search us and see us in person. I am Erkan SUGUT. I am a citizen of the Republic of Turkey. I am the chairman and founding member of a humanitarian aid association in Turkey. A few months ago, I registered a non-profit organization in the United States. Our organization is registered in Delaware. We have received our 501(c)3 tax-exempt status and charitable certification. Our goal is to show society that there are good people and to show people in need that they are not alone. I can say that about 70% of the society is disadvantaged. This is my own opinion. It is not a statistic based on scientific and research. When I research my own environment, I see this many disadvantaged people. When we scale this up and look globally, I'm sure it could be as much as 80%. This is where we come into play. We volunteers provide this service without any benefit or expectation. We do this regardless of salary or any income. It undermines our expectations politically, economically or in any way. Please share this post of mine. This is an act that will benefit every good-hearted person who donates, both in this world and the hereafter. Also, your donations may go to people you do not know, but rest assured, you will feel at peace. There is no donation, no matter how big or small. Do not spare your support to the homeless, the elderly, orphans, widows, those who cannot find a job, addicts, prisoners of fate, immigrants and all disadvantaged people.
