The incredible and rare contemporary example is when a small but highly-skilled team from a new independent maison works passionately and tirelessly to make physics and art 'dance' again (pun intended) in new ways. This is also a beautiful example of how independent maisons, through such approaches as, "The two immediately came up with seven key facets of watchmaking to reinvent, refining something existing in the industry to produce a new creation." can truly bring innovation and interest, intertwining modern thought and technological processes to the historical world of watchmaking. Success from independents like these can and should be possible, just ask F.P.Journe - Invenit et Fecit, whose creations match the creativity and prowess shown by Dominique Renaud And Julien Tixier in this article in many ways for the past decades. https://lnkd.in/d7zsAYPh

Entrepreneur; trainer and organisational culture consultant, currently getting into shoe design; 🪄founder of MAD, handcrafted 👠👠 in limited edition capsule collections.
😎 Let’s talk about the elephant in the room - yes, the MAD Shoes are expensive! But have you wondered why? It is because we’re creating a product that tells a story; a story that blends the unique vision of the brand with the hands that make it. ⭐ The artists behind the MAD brand are the people who bring our vision to life. Each artist we collaborate with pours skill, creativity, time, and resources to craft something unique. Our shoes and accessories are not, and will never be, mass-produced. Every pair is the result of countless hours of work, thoughtful design, and careful attention to every detail. 📍 This is why the MAD Shoes come at a higher price point. 👉 Read more about the artistry behind the brand: https://lnkd.in/g6tqf4Ck

I’m just not that into your runway show. Aka what I actually love about NYFW. Every NYFW, people ask me if I’m excited for NYFW. I am! But not for the reason they assume. I don’t get excited about attending runway shows. It’s not because I’m a jaded business person who’s spent far too much time waiting for shows to start than seeing actual clothes. It’s not because I don’t enjoy the theater and appreciate the massive efforts behind the art presented. I hate waste. As a CEO, I deeply feel the waste on display when small, emerging designers invest their money and precious time putting on a show because they think they should, or must, to gain attention for their brand. A show is a party for your fans. First, get fans. This week at RAISEfashion Masterclass 2024 panel, the lovely and talented Jacques Agbobly said it best when asked what people can do to support Black designers: “Buy our clothes. Buy our clothes at full price.” Find fans and customers who will buy your clothes at full price. Until you have a profitable bottom line and the cash to throw your fans a party, keep working on connecting with the customers who can pay full price. Until you have connected with customers willing to hand over their hard earned cash, you don’t have a business, your brand is still an art project. And that’s great! We all have to start somewhere. Keep going. Find patrons for your art. Read my full article to find out what I love about NYFW and how designers can create connections with their customers beyond a runway presentation. ❤️🗽🎨
Your business is not your runway show.

Capturing Moments of Elegance. A free visual exploration imagined for Perrier Jouet Some time ago I wanted to challenge myself and create a free visual exploration for the champagne brand Perrier Jouet, aiming to capture the luxury essence of the brand and bring it into an imaginative world. The concept, "Moments of Elegance," creates a visual journey that allows viewers to experience the interplay between Perrier Jouet and nature through the changing seasons. Each frame is inspired by the art behind the creation of the cuvée, offering a modern interpretation of the different stages of champagne production. music & sound design created by the amazing Sebastian Hoetter

FROM CHARLI XCX TO KAMALA HARRIS: HOW BRAT SUMMER IS REDEFINING STYLE AND ATTITUDE. 💪🏼🚀 Brat Summer: A Microtrend Redefining Aesthetic and Attitude The concept of 'Brat Summer' has taken the internet by storm, embodying an alluring slime-green aesthetic and an attitude that challenges societal norms. This Brat-movement, popularized by #CharliXCX's album of the same name, celebrates a rebellious, carefree spirit that embraces imperfection and indulges in individuality. From embracing contradictions and unapologetic self-assuredness to embodying an attitude of playful petulance and ambition, 'Brat Summer' offers a fresh perspective on personal expression and style. 'Brat Summer' is not limited to fashion and lifestyle choices; it also influences beauty trends, including #eyebrowstyles. This microtrend encourages a mix of vulnerability and edginess, striking a balance between embracing imperfections and exuding confidence. With the unexpected embrace of #BratSummer by public figures like #KamalaHarris, questions arise about the credibility of its adoption. As the trend transcends the realm of online culture and integrates into mainstream discourse, it prompts conversations about authenticity and appropriation. Is Harris genuinely aligning with the spirit of 'Brat Summer' or simply riding the wave for strategic purposes? https://lnkd.in/eCaYDzp3 #BratSummer #BratMovement #BratStyle #BratAttitude #RebelSpirit #Individuality #PlayfulBrutality #AmbitiousMindset #ImperfectlyConfident #Microtrends #OnlineCulture #MainstreamDiscourse #Authenticity #Appropriation #BeautyTrends #FashionInfluence #MicrotrendPodcast

Ah, THE MET GALA, 2024!🎉 What lessons can be learned from this annual invitation only costume party described by many as frivolous, elitist and over the top? Well here are a few: >CONFIDENCE AT ANY AGE - At 27 years old, Zendaya owns every room she enters. Just look. >PERCEPTION ISNT ALWAYS REALITY- 2 years ago while waiting to board a flight from NYC to Rome, a familiar face wearing a chic floral dress, trademark dark glasses and a warm smile scanned the empty seats around me then approached to ask politely if she could sit next to me. #annawintour -no devil, no prada- she was lovely. > ANYONE CAN HAVE A MISSTEP, ADDRESS IT QUICKLY Confusion over a clash between the gala theme, "Sleeping Beauties, reawakening fashion" AND the official dress code, "Garden of Time" caused a media uproar. Is it a #Disney theme? Is it a nod to #GrimmBrothers? What is it? Well, it was neither. Combined with an apology, Anna explained that it was meant to be a nod to florals and springtime. How could the leader at #vogue, a publishing organization with access to the best writers and editors anywhere, NOT catch this messaging mixup? It happens to everyone. Leaders apologize quickly, explain, move on. >IT'S OK TO HAVE FUN! Creative expression taps our joy center. Film, fashion, dance, music, art, comedy or any other form of creativity allows us to express ourselves joyfully which makes us better at our work. #leadership #metgala #fashion #thedevilwearsprada

The decision to add a gallery partner is, of course, very personal. You likely shoulder all the decisions and responsibilities yourself, and while change might be difficult, it might also be just what is needed for your gallery’s future success. Wildly successful businesses have been built by partnerships, but it’s not a silver bullet as they have eroded just as many. Having a partner can be an incredible asset to your gallery business, career, and sanity. Knowledge is power.
