Message for #undergraduates / #postgraduates / #graduates interested in a research career - Cardiff Business School is seeking to recruit a #KnowledgeTransferPartnership (#KTP) Associate with a passion for #sustainability and #digitalisation. Through #hybridworking, the Associate will be employed by Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd to work #fulltime for two years with Welsh based SME, Down to Earth (DTE). This exciting new research will support DTE with tackling #socialinequality and improving the health and well-being of communities. This #publicvalue research and the knowledge developed from the #ktp will inform the design and delivery of a #digitalimpacttoolkit which will change the way communities work and provide for each other in Wales and the wider UK. The project is titled, EPIC - Environment/People Impact Calculator. Over the past week, I've sat with professionals across several industry sectors, exploring Skills Street as a vehicle to enable even the most prominent of our South #Yorkshire business brands to think differently about approaching a future for their industry. For some ... it's the HERE AND NOW with ongoing implications of accessing and retaining a skilled (and enthusiastic!) workforce. For others, it's scaling a growth model that adapts to emerging markets and trends. What will your business look like in 5 years time (when a current South Yorkshire 11 year old will leave mainstream #education to find employment?!). For ALL of us, it's recognising the need to excite people, much earlier about the possibilities of working in industry. Consider the prospect of a primary school pupil seeing that they don't have to be a Doctor to work in health. That designing games and #digital coding is applying English, literacy and an ability to pass on messages. The idea of a ‘career’, as we once understood it, is undergoing a rapid change. Ten years ago, if someone had an ‘Oxbridge’ education (Oxford + Cambridge) you’d find them on top of an organizational ladder.
