Pictured, we captured the same section from Zone 2 now five years on. ➡️ 2019: Following site investigations, we were rolling out a land remediation strategy, prepping the ground for construction. ➡️ 2024: This new-build estate is now occupied by residents and part of a wider community development growing year-on-year. #thenandnow #thenvsnow #5yearson #residentialdevelopments #construction #landremediation #siteinvestigation #geoenvironmental #geoenvironmentalengineering #throwback #throwbackthursday

Kirklees Local Plan and Call for Sites Kirklees Council committed to commence a full update of their Local Plan in October 2023. The first stage of formal consultation is likely to be the Council’s Early Engagement Consultation in August 2024. However, their Call for Sites is still open for submissions, so please get in touch with your P+S contact should you have any land interests in the Kirklees District and need initial advice and/or assistance with the promotion of sites. The Council’s latest published five-year housing land supply position is 3.96 years, which means the presumption of sustainable development (the tilted balance) is triggered and applies in most circumstances unless specifically restricted. #planning #kirklees #localplan #fiveyearsupply

On this day in 1937, the iconic Golden Gate Bridge opened to vehicular traffic, forever transforming the landscape of California and the lives of its residents. More than just a marvel of engineering, this project was a beacon of hope during the Great Depression, creating thousands of jobs and invigorating a community in desperate need of economic relief. The construction of the Golden Gate Bridge employed over 10,000 workers, providing much-needed income and stability to countless families. In a time when the national unemployment rate soared to nearly 25%, the bridge project not only connected San Francisco to Marin County but also helped lift the spirits and livelihoods of an entire region. Today, as we navigate through challenging economic times, it's inspiring to reflect on how large-scale infrastructure projects can serve as catalysts for recovery and growth. The Golden Gate Bridge stands as a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of Californians, reminding us that even in the darkest times, we can build a brighter future. As we face a grim market today, let’s remember the power of collective effort and ambitious projects. The Golden Gate Bridge wasn’t just about steel and concrete; it was about giving people hope, purpose, and a path forward. Let's channel that spirit of determination and innovation to overcome our current challenges and build a prosperous future for all. #GoldenGateBridge #EconomicRecovery #GreatDepression #Infrastructure #Hope #California #Resilience #Innovation #History #Community

Please can people write and say they want the railway reopening? It is a shared access of former Bedford and Wellingborough lines. Ironically the Bedford-Northampton rail idea is in their proposed Local Plan. Left hand not know what right hand is doing?! Please remember my new email is richard.brta@gmail.com https://lnkd.in/eyEAQsmV Please write and object to this encroachment on a double track railway corridor denying Northampton ability for direct rails to Bedford/Brighton and all in between and also direct Northampton-Bedford-Cambridge rails too. It is cynical and draconian. Yes, we need development, yes we need housing and brownfield, but to block a rail access when the rail alternative is crying out to rebalance gridlocked congestion and harmful pollution, seems very short sighted. Likewise, we do need Northampton-Market Harborough (N2MHY). Please join us and work with us to keep these options open.
