Held to impossible standards... self imposed, and imposed by others. We are supposed to be silent. If we speak up, forcefully or passionately to express what we believe could be improved or changed to a loved one or a peer or colleague we actually respect - we are labled as "passive-agressive" or wearing a scarlet B. If we are too quiet, we are "weak" or "cowardly". We can't talk too much. But our silence is not accepted either. We can't be alpha, but we also can't be too submissive... THEN WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO BE!
Those who are NOT WISE 24-7, should not expect WISDOM from others.
If we are not drinking "a" koolaid or we depart from the norm - we are less than worthy. If we give too much or too little. If we WEIGH too much or too little. If we are introverted or outspoken... Women, for CENTURIES have been subjected to live within IMPOSSIBLE boundaries. If we are white or of color - it doesn't matter. We are invisible to medical care, cookie cutting our womanhood into boxes it doesn't fit into. We owe it to each other to lift our spirits, wipe the tears, kiss the skinned knee and encourage each other to KEEP ON GOING. There is no place for gaslighting or the labels (I LOVE the "passive-agressive" one - can one disagree but still like/admire the person that is living in their own ego? AND WHY DO WE HAVE TO MEASURE EVERY WORD? SURE, there is decorum and there is kindness. It doesn't always work as easily as it sounds - SO WHY EXPECT THE PERFECTION?). Labels belong on BOTTLES and BOXES. NOT ON OUR FOREHEADS!
