🏆 Celebrating Our Biggest Win at Inventron 2K23! 🏆 Hey everyone! 👋 I'm absolutely thrilled to share one of the most significant moments in my tech journey so far. I had the incredible opportunity to participate in Inventron 2K23, a 36-hour national hackathon organized by MLRIT CIE It was a whirlwind experience – diving into my second year of studies and just beginning to explore full-stack web development. Alongside my teammate, Akhil Kongonda. we embarked on a journey to create something impactful. Our project? A real-time ambulance location tracking and sharing application. Through countless hours of hard work, determination, and teamwork, crafted a prototype . Undeterred by the highs and lows, we persevered through the challenges, pushing ourselves to the limit and beyond. And you know what? All that effort paid off – because we clinched the first prize! Winning at Inventron 2K23 wasn't just about the trophy or the recognition. It was about the journey – the moments of inspiration, and the camaraderie forged in the fires of innovation. This experience left a lasting impact on me, solidifying my belief in the power of perseverance, collaboration, and the boundless potential of technology to create positive change. I'm happy to share that I won 2nd place at the University of Pittsburgh's 2024 SteelHacks hackathon! This was my first hackathon ever. I think my teammates, Morgan Engel and Austin Gohn, and I make a dream team. 🙌 Our project, called One Call Away, aims to help elderly people at risk of falling and injuring themselves by using motion detection to determine if someone has suffered a dangerous fall, and autonomously call emergency contacts if so. I was responsible for coding the webcam to recognize whether a human body is upright or horizontal, and make a decision whether to contact emergency authorities. This included YOLOv8, an A.I. software trained on identifying and tracking human bodies. From this project, I learned how to work well with a team under pressure. We envision One Call Away will expand current home healthcare technologies with A.I. and ultimately save lives. 🎉First Hackathon Adventure: Alphabyte 1.0 We have just completed our first hackathon experience, which has been marked by learning, creativity and teamwork. Although we didn’t make it pass Round 1, every challenge along the way has taught us a lot and helped to improve upon our skills. My teammates Aman Yadav Yash Patel shantanu chaubey deserve special appreciation for their support and team spirit. It was a great privilege to go through this inaugural hackathon together turning stumbling blocks into growth opportunities. Code creativity collaboration is what binds us as a unit.
