This #InternationalWomensDay, I'm reflecting on the women who have shattered glass ceilings and built a better career path. From my mother's lessons in perseverance to the incredible women I've encountered in HR, they've all been brilliant mentors, dedicated colleagues, and sometimes, even the sharpest reality checks I could ask for! Unconscious bias holding women back? Let's face it, the path to success for women isn't always smooth. Unconscious bias, unequal pay structures, and the ever-present juggle of work-life balance remain significant challenges. However, it's important to remember that these are common challenges many women face, not a universal experience. There are always exceptions, and some women have thrived despite these obstacles. Building a Brighter Future: This International Women's Day, let's not just celebrate the women who have come before us, but actively work towards building a brighter future. Let's create a more equitable workplace where everyone has the opportunity to excel. We all have a role to play in creating a #BalanceforBetter workplace. What's one action your company can take to combat unconscious bias? Share your thoughts in the comments! #WomenInLeadership #Diversityandinclusion

'The survey debunks four myths about women’s workplace experiences and career advancement. A few of these myths cover old ground, but given the notable lack of progress, they warrant repeating. These include women’s career ambitions, the greatest barrier to their ascent to senior leadership, the effect and extent of microaggressions in the workplace, and women’s appetite for flexible work. We hope highlighting these myths will help companies find a path forward that casts aside outdated thinking once and for all and accelerates progress for women' https://mck.co/36jKvg0

Useful research on the current state of workplace inclusion and the key areas holding back progress in building diverse organizations able to capitalize on available talent. Not surprising that the findings indicate that the "biggest inequity in advancement remains the broken rung—the very first step up into a manager position." Importantly also, the negative impact of microaggressions should be properly understood and addressed in building positive company culture. #diversityequityandinclusion #workplacesexism #brokenrung

Randi Weitzman, executive director of technology at Robert Half joined CNBC to discuss new research showing less women feel satisfied with their career growth opportunities than men but are less inclined to make career moves due to fear of losing their current work flexibility. It is becoming increasingly conducive for female professionals to adopt a flexible working model, but the historical data analyzing gender dynamics in the workplace suggests they risk lower pay and stalled careers. To truly empower female employees, Weitzman said, businesses need to offer opportunities for both flexibility and career growth.
