It was a pleasure to be invited to speak at the FT Live #Hydrogen for the second year and bring on stage the perspective of Zhero 'Scaling up the #Infrastructure to #Transport and Store #Hydrogen Globally' was a dynamic panel moderated by Camilla P. and with Miguel Ángel López Borrego , Patrick Gjelstrup Rosenquist and Alicia Eastman Key takeaways from the panel: → “Soft infrastructure” is required before infrastructure development kicks in -> however what is key today is that industry and policy makers: 1. Set right demand signals and really focus on those segments that are “closer to be in the money” rather than the entire hydrogen target market potential 2. Stimulate manufacturers of key equipment (electrolyzers in particular) to scale up significantly and quickly to help driving cost down (and face similar trend emerging from Chinese OEMs) → e-NG (synthetic methane) has the unique and distinctive benefit to be able to leverage on existing infrastructure. -> finally, focusing more and more on where it is most competitive to produce green molecules and have in place consistent offsetting programs globally would also foster faster greenfield development. #hydrogen #energytransition #eNG #zhero #ppws

Britvic have signed a 10 year corporate PPA with a 28MW solar farm in Northamptonshire, owned by Atrato. The site currently produces 3.3GWh of solar power and will convert 75% of Britvic's power usage to clean energy, powering 3 factories in Leeds, East London, and Rugby. Britvic's investment will also provide the financial security needed by Atrato to scale the project up to produce 28GWh and provide clean power for 100% of Britvic's power usage.   The project aids Britvic in its attempts to reach net zero carbon emissions, but also makes use of a former quarry that is now unsuitable for farming, features innovative, double-sided solar panels that follow the sun, and will play host to "rewilding" opportunities, increasing biodiversity in the local area. This is a prime example of how virtual PPAs can help corporates reach net zero targets, whilst funding development of clean energy sites that could provide clean energy to surrounding homes. #cppa #netzero

Teraloop´s new generation of flywheels finally offers sustainable solutions for industrial and commercial consumption patterns with frequent load variations. The mechanical storage devices excel in physical properties and commercial return for operators. Teraloop´s flyhweels respond in milliseconds and are able to diminish cost associated with frequent and short load peak and load variations, frequence fluctuations and voltage sags. They also enhance the economic viability of battery storage (when co-located).

ZwitterCo, which is transforming water treatment through advanced membrane technologies, recently announced the successful close of its Series B funding round led by Evok Innovations. Evok was joined by DCVC, BHP, Munich Re Ventures, Siteground, HG Ventures, and Blue Horizon Advisors. The multi-let industrial park developer Flexiparks and the photovoltaic experts from PVT Austria are combining their resources to convert available roof surfaces into sustainable energy sources. The starting signal for the cooperation initiative will take place in the summer of 2024 at “Flexiparks Vienna North I”, with further joint projects in the pipeline.
