🌍 Energy storage news: Arteche Enters the Energy Storage Market through Strategic Partnership with Teraloop ⚡ We are pleased to announce that Teraloop and Arteche have signed a strategic alliance, also supported by Arteche Ventures. This partnership will extend the service provision of Arteche’s grid reliability portfolio by the introduction of Teraloop’s innovative power management and energy storage technology. https://lnkd.in/e2ByptWs 📈 What does this mean? - Teraloop will benefit from the extensive market presence of its new partner, who will also be able to create customised systems branded "Arteche powered by Teraloop". - This agreement gives Arteche a permanent seat on Teraloop’s Board of Directors, enabling deeper collaboration in future product development and commercialisation - The first products through the alliance will be available in 2025, for example integrated into Arteche’s offerings to enhance the performance and lifespan of the systems. Last year the Earth was hotter than ever before, with the global mean temperature nearly hitting the critical threshold of 1.5 degrees centigrade above pre-industrial levels. When participating to the ancillary markets, colocating flywheel power to LFP li-ion batteries, to act as buffer for the short peaks of power, can enable significant increase of the lifetime of the battery asset. This leads to a decrease in the needed additional battery energy capacity commissioned. Flywheels have a long life time, do not degrade with use, and have class leading efficiency, making them an ideal solution for the ancillary markets. 🔋 EnergyWeek day 3: the event week continued to deliver on a multitude of thought-provoking speeches, panel discussions, happenings and networking. 🥳 And today the winners of the 2024 Energy and Innovation Awards were finally announced! 🏆The winner of the Oscar of energy technology is Teraloop Oy – Frequency control and battery protection with kinetic energy. Teraloop solves the daily power management needs of the energy transition with its patented, modular kinetic electrical energy storage system. 🏆The People's Choice went to Danfoss Drives, thanks to their innovative SISO inverter filters. The SISO filters solve challenges associated with paralleling inverter units, long electric motor cables, and hybrid systems including battery storage. 👏A big round of applause and warm congratulations to the winners! Today's good news is that Teraloop Oy was the winner of the expert Jury's Choice at the Energy & Innovation Awards at Energy Week in Vaasa. A big thanks to our supporters for seeing us through the perilous first commercial steps. The energy transition presents a massively complex market in terms of grid flexibility, incumbents, pricing and cost volatility. But it's a market that is finding out that power management is critical and is looking for solutions to complement batteries on the daily markets and behind the meter. So this is sweet timing for our young company.
