This video proves that my lifelong knowledge of Physics and Mathematics were *_not_* sufficient to solve this Highschool problem correctly. How about yours? Let me know. Well, *first* try to solve the problem _yourself_ as I did. It took me about *ten* *seconds* to figure out confidently that the correct answer would be X, which is included in the _options_ . Then the shock came: my answer was wrong!! But worse, the correct answer is NOT in the _options_ either!!! Whoa! I think school teaches us maybe the wrong lesson. School teaches us a lesson about mediocrity and being all-rounders. And yet we live in a world that does not reward all-rounders. Who gives a fuck about all-rounders? If you get a D in physics and you get an A in English, just go to English lessons 'We'll get you ... to a C grade in physics' ... I tell you what the world doesn't need - someone who's shit at physics! So, find out what you've got a natural ability for, what's the thing that you do best and just lean into that! Quantum Untangling: An Intuitive Approach to Quantum Mechanics from Einstein to Higgs. I got this full-color book a couple of months ago and almost finished reading it. It really helped me understand the motivation behind various QED/QCD equations I frequently encountered during my perennial QFT learning journey since 1987. It also discusses gauge invariance at length and includes two chapters on the Higgs field. But you need calculus knowledge to understand the book - it's full of equations but derivations are in full. The book is wide in both coverage and paper format (no pun intended), and its 280 pages are equivalent to a 400-500-page textbook of usual width/height proportions.

What are some good books to study turbulence? In my experience the following books have helped me grasp the nuances of turbulence better. These books have helped me understand the mathematics and physics of turbulence quite well and I would recommend these for folks starting out on their 'voyage through turbulence'. These books all assume a decent grasp of Fluid flow and the Navier Stokes equation. 1. A First Course in Turbulence: By Henk Tennekes  and John L. Lumley 2. Turbulent Flows by Stephen B. Pope: Very good for delving into the mathematics of everything related with turbulence, great for building a strong mathematical base. 3. An Introduction to Turbulent Flow Jean Mathieu, Julian Scott: Once your math is sound this books helps develop the physical intuition needed to understand all aspects of turbulence. These books are good for developing basics. Once you go through these there are some excellent domain specific books that you should refer to as needed.
