Last month, our team of talented women inspired approximately 727 school girls by hosting 13 school sessions, introducing them to the wonderful world of construction. 👷♀️ 🚧 🏗 The 'Girls can Build' programme, a pioneering initiative developed by the women at OCL was a remarkable success following its launch earlier this year. The programme seeks to "plant the seed" among primary school girls aged 7 to 10, highlighting the diverse career opportunities in construction through immersive and engaging sessions. From role play and building competitions to budget management and safety challenges the sessions were incredibly popular due to their interactivity and creativity. Hermione Grainger's PPE challenge was a big hit! James Harris, Managing Director of OCL Facades Limited, emphasised the importance of this initiative: “Women remain significantly underrepresented in the construction sector. Whilst progress is being made, there is still much more we can do collectively to address the future skills shortage and gender parity in the sector.” He continued, “We wanted to create a programme that would inspire young girls in particular, by showcasing the exciting roles in construction. The response from the schools and pupils we have engaged with has been phenomenal.” Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eXjYRTTi
