Field Service Technicians – Credit where credit is due With the current failure of the Calgary waterline and the recent failure at the E.L Smith Water Treatment Plant that affected Edmonton and the surrounding area. Above & Beyond Compression Inc. would like to give another shout-out to the men and women who work behind the scenes maintaining and repairing our infrastructure. How important is Water and Power? Think back to what Edmonton experienced in January and look at what Calgary is experiencing now. That was water, imagine if that was electricity and/or gas! Many Albertans undervalue the contributions made by our highly skilled tradespeople. NOT Above & Beyond Compression, we recognize and value their commitment, skill, and sacrifice. There are highly skilled tradespeople living throughout our countryside. They perform maintenance and repairs on state-of-the-art equipment. This equipment is constantly evolving to meet more efficient production standards and to reduce the impact it has on our environment. Often Albertans only see a heavy truck with a service body traveling down some road covered in mud. What some people don’t know is the skill and commitment of the individual driving that truck. These men and women work long hours. Often traveling in poor driving conditions or on poorly maintained roads. Rain or shine, heat or cold. They are out ensuring the equipment that supplies us with utilities is performing properly. Rotating equipment is dangerous work. Not only because of its size or the nature of how it works. But there are also safety concerns due to the work that is being performed by this equipment. Compressed gases, electricity, confined spaces, the list goes on. What’s my point? Cut them some slack. It is a challenging enough career without the average person vilifying them for being in the energy industry. Above & Beyond Compression would like to reach out to these men and women to say…THANK YOU! I know there are many other individuals in other industries that deserve the same recognition. But today we are thanking the Field Service Technicians.

Resume, Cover Letter & LinkedIn Specialist ◆ Top 100 Women in the Energy Transition ◆ Top 15 LinkedIn Experts in Houston ➤ I help senior and executive-level Oil, Gas & Energy professionals optimize profiles and level up!
One of my completions engineering clients has received 2 job offers from operators only 3 WEEKS after having his resume and LinkedIn rebuilt! This client has 7+ years on the services side and 4 years on the E&P side. His experience also has combined completions design work with field operations experience, making him a very well-rounded candidate for operators. He couldn’t gain traction in his job search due to two main issues: ➡️ His content was too services focused and didn’t come across as an ideal fit for operator environments. He had a tough time figuring out which content needed to be streamlined and what his audience needed to hear. ➡️ He used an ‘everything and the kitchen sink’ approach to writing his materials. Too much generic content and not enough focus! Since I’ve worked with so many completions engineers over the years, it was also helpful that he didn’t need to explain industry terms to me. 😊 Right now, he’s beyond excited about having options. I know vacations are still in full swing, but O&G hiring is going strong! Hope your job searches are going well too, friends! #oilgas #oilandgas #engineering #petroleum #energy #jobseekers #energystrong

This one thing held me back for YEARS… And it is the very thing that stops many people taking that first step… lacking self belief! There was always a little doubt in my mind whether I could actually make a property business work. But after realising I needed to get out of my own way & seek advice from folk who had been down the path I wanted to go… It gave me a whole load of information, knowledge & confidence to push forward with action. And in just 4 years I was able to go from a complete newbie to full time in property leaving a well paid oil & gas job. Sometimes just reaching out & asking the right questions can be a huge step. You are often one conversation away from completely changing your life. So, who do you need to speak to so that you can make 2024 your best yet?
