🌈 Promoting LGBTQ+ Inclusivity in Education 🌈 As educators, it's our responsibility to ensure that all students feel safe, supported, and included in our learning environments. Here are some key steps to making education institutions LGBTQ+ friendly: 1. Training and Education: Offering comprehensive training for faculty and staff on LGBTQ+ issues, terminology, and inclusive practices helps create a culture of understanding and respect. 2. Policies and Procedures: Implementing anti-discrimination policies that explicitly protect LGBTQ+ students and staff ensure these policies are enforced consistently and transparently. 3. Support Services: Establishing support services such as LGBTQ+ student groups, counseling services, and gender-neutral restrooms provide necessary support and community for LGBTQ+ individuals. 4. Inclusive Curriculum: Integrating LGBTQ+ history, literature, and contributions into the curriculum matters because diverse perspectives enrich the learning experience for all students. 5. Visible Support: Displaying LGBTQ+ inclusive symbols such as Pride flags or Safe Space stickers throughout the campus signify support and create a welcoming atmosphere. 6. Language and Pronouns: Respecting individuals' chosen names and pronouns encourage the use of inclusive language in all communications and interactions. 7. Partnerships and Outreach: Collaborating with LGBTQ+ organizations and community groups fosters partnerships and provide additional support and resources. By taking these proactive steps, we can create an educational environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed. Let's work together to build a future where every individual can thrive, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. #inclusiveeducation #lgbtq+ #diversityandinclusion

New research from Redrow, Platinum Member of The 5% Club, has revealed that the gender stereotypes in construction are dwindling as 66% of young women participants already work in, have considered working in or are open to working in construction - up 17% from 2023. The survey of 1,000 young adults found that it’s not just the potential high salary young women find appealing (39%), but also the opportunity to have a long-term career (26%) and the ability to set up their own business later down the line (25%). The increase in women entering the sector could be attributed to a rise in female role models. In fact, over two-fifths (42%) of women surveyed want to work for a company that has female or LGBTQ leaders. There is further detail in the linked showhome/Construction Buzz article below, including comment from karen jones (Group HRD Redrow) and Darryl Stewart (NHBC). #apprenticeships #earnandlearn #genderequity #constructionindustry #stereotypes

California's New Educator Training Aims To Boost LGBTQ+ Student Safety An online training will be required for public certificated educators in California who work with seventh through 12th grade students. Known as PRISM (Providing Relevant, Inclusive Support that Matters for LGBTQ students), it’s currently being developed and will be finalized by July 1st next year. What’s in the training? In the six-part online program, educators will learn about bullying prevention, intersectional identities, and understanding LGBTQ+ culture. What are the requirements? Under the state law, AB 5, passed last year, the training will be mandated for all public certified educators working with seventh through 12th grade students. The educators will have to complete at least one hour of the program a year. How will it be enforced? The program will be monitored locally, with a report back to the California Legislature after five years. The training will be released by the end of June 2025. 🔗 https://bit.ly/4cvI5Kb 📸 David McNew/Getty Images

Your Fairy Brandmother 🧚♀️ Branding with Fairy Magic 💅 Queer Creative in Business 🏳️🌈 Inclusive Brand Designer 🌈 Neurospicy 🌶️
🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Do you care about Queer & Trans people or are you only interested in their Pink Money? 🩷💰 First things first, you need to recognise what your intentions are behind your Pride Campaign. Understanding your authentic reasonings for committing to a pride campaign outside of potential monetary incentives is a crucial first step. 👉 Why is it important to you and your company that you demonstrate allyship? 👉 Why do you want to lead by example in your industry? 👉 How does running a Pride Campaign align with your Brand Values? Example: I will discuss how an educational resource company (like Classroom Secrets) that creates teaching resources for primary school children may approach a Pride Campaign. ✊ Why is it important for “Insert Education Company” to demonstrate allyship? It is important to us that we demonstrate our allyship to LGBTQ+ people because we are committed to creating a truly inclusive environment for our Queer & Trans colleagues to feel understood and supported in a symbiotic relationship where we learn, nurture, and develop together as one with a common goal of bettering education and opportunities for all young people in a global society. ⭐️ Why does “Insert Education Company” want to lead by example in the education industry? Education companies within the education industry have a responsibility to provide LGBTQ+ teaching resources. Educating people on LGBTQ+ identity, existence, and history, in a modern world where globally Queer & Trans human rights are under constant attack. The Education Industry is pivotal in sharing facts and knowledge to heal this social narrative. As a primary school resource provider, we are responsible for teaching young people about a more loving and inclusive world. ❤️ How does running a Pride Campaign align with “Insert Education Company” Brand Values? We believe that integrity is at the core of all that we do. We must always strive to do the right thing in education to nurture children and those who teach them in the best way we know how. Human rights and being kind to people seem like pretty important topics to teach our children. So now I pose the questions to you. Why do you care about Pride? 🤔🧐 #Business #Brand #Branding #Marketing #PrideMonth
