Effective leadership is about providing clear direction and ensuring everyone is aligned toward common goals. This means leaders must communicate their objectives clearly and continuously align team efforts. Clarity eliminates confusion and focuses the team’s energy on what matters most. Alignment ensures everyone moves together, adapting as needed based on ongoing feedback. Leaders should engage regularly with their team, keep goals transparent, and recognize those who help meet these objectives. As leaders, our job is to make the path clear and keep everyone on track. What values, traits, or characteristics do we look for in leaders? Through extensive international research in the early 80s, leadership scholar Barry Posner suggests we look for leaders who have credibility in that they are: 1.      Honest – They tell the truth. 2.      Competent – Capable, have good judgement, someone who knows what they’re talking about. Leaders are great learners; this is how they nurture their competence. 3.      Inspirational – Energetic, enthusiastic, and optimistic about what they are pursuing. Leaders show their passion. 4.      Forward-Looking – Have a purpose, vision, and sense of direction. Leaders are willing to take a stand.
