We understand that to deliver a lasting impact, we have to focus on the long-term from the outset. That is why our partnerships with Procter & Gamble and all the communities supported through the #RimbaCollective are with a 30 year horizon in mind. We need to act fast to prevent further impact on the planet and restore what has been lost, but this also needs the right partners and the knowledge that this is a marathon.
We love supporting local communities and protecting lush landscapes in Southeast Asia through the Rimba Collective. 🌱 Procter & Gamble is a founding member of this 30-year program, established in 2020 by companies with a shared commitment to community and landscape initiatives in Southeast Asia. Reflecting on My Journey with Save Aravali Trust: A Tale of Volunteerism and Environmental Consciousness As a volunteer with Save Aravali Trust, I've witnessed firsthand the remarkable spirit of community and dedication that drives this organization. Every day, every month, there's someone stepping up, taking more responsibility, and embracing challenges with unwavering determination. It's a beautiful cycle where individuals come together, driven by a shared passion for environmental conservation. What strikes me most about this journey is how seamlessly volunteers fill the gaps left by those who move on due to personal or professional commitments. It's a testament to the collective commitment we share towards our cause. In this ever-evolving landscape of volunteerism, I've come to realize that planting a thought for environmental consciousness is far more crucial than merely planting a tree. Conservation of existing forests holds greater significance than the creation of new ones. At times, I've pondered over the significance of our actions. Is planting trees a novel deed, a necessity, or a duty we owe to our planet? The answers to these questions often elude me. Sometimes, I've felt insignificant in the face of the monumental challenges posed to nature. But then, a simple sight of birds nesting on our trees or insects visiting their flowers fills me with a sense of profound significance. Yet, amidst our love for nature, there exists a paradox. We humans often prioritize our immediate needs and desires over the long-term health of the environment. We seek shade under trees but hesitate to plant them in our own spaces, fearing inconvenience or extra effort. Our needs are indeed rising, and so are our greed. However, it's imperative to recognize that our existence is intertwined with nature. We owe our very existence to the delicate balance of the natural world. As volunteers, as stewards of the environment, it's our responsibility to bridge the gap between our love for nature and our actions. Through our collective efforts, we can inspire change, one person at a time. While the challenges may seem daunting, the power of collective action should never be underestimated. Just as bacteria multiply exponentially, so too can our thoughts and actions towards a greener, more sustainable future. https://lnkd.in/gfGThiU3

In Nogara, Italy, up to 1.5 million m3 of water will be added every year to the local aquifer by a joint project between Coca-Cola HBC Italy and the Consorzio di bonifica veronese. We’re proud to have signed a long-term agreement to create a Forest Infiltration Area near our Nogara production plant with the Consorzio di bonifica veronese. We expect work to start in Autumn 2025. The Forest Infiltration Area will be a new network of canals, trees and shrubs that will help revitalise fresh water in this area. Water extracted from the River Adige will continuously flow into the network of canals to refresh the groundwater acquifer. From this aquifer, hundreds of local wells will be used to extract water for agriculture and community use. The acquifer will be more resilient to weather fluctuations, for example the amount of water collected will be reduced in the summer season when the river flow is lower. This project is one of the ways in which we’re building our knowledge on how to manage water programmes that bring benefits to local communities. These include the Living Danube Partnership that runs in six countries that we operate in. 🌳🌳 A GREEN TRANSITION GOING ON IN PARAGUAY🌳🌳 SilviPar is a company that is establishing highly competitive and sustainable forest plantations in southern Paraguay. I have had the opportunity to be with them soon 2 years. Martin Forsén, who is coordinating and monitoring SilviPar’s progress phrases it as: "Paraguay is an emerging sustainable forest industry nation, and we believe that southern Paraguay is the best place in Paraguay for this industry. Here we have some of the highest growth rates in the world and good industrial locations thanks to the abundant rain and good soils, excellent logistics and a skilled human resource". Ramon Gonzalez is the CEO of SilviPar in Paraguay. I met Ramon for the first time april 2022. Since then we have had many opportunities to meet and discuss. What I think makes Ramon unique is his extraordinary ability to combine operational topics with his visionary approach. As Ramon usually says: "We plant trees but SilviPar means something much more, we are building a foundation for a larger forest industry that will further strengthen the economic, social and environmental impact". I wish SilviPar and the Paraguay forest industry all success going forward. #paraguay #silvipar #transition #greeneconomy #sustainability #forest
