Cannabinoids are a group of naturally occurring chemical compounds found primarily in the Cannabis sativa plant, commonly known as cannabis or hemp. Over 100 cannabinoids have been identified, with the two most well-known being: Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC): This is the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis, responsible for the "high" associated with marijuana use. Cannabidiol (CBD): Unlike THC, CBD does not produce an intoxicating effect and is being studied for its potential therapeutic benefits in various conditions. https://lnkd.in/gQPXBtTz

Did you know... ...Delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as delta-8 THC, is a psychoactive substance found in the Cannabis sativa plant, of which marijuana and hemp are two varieties. Delta-8 THC is one of over 100 cannabinoids produced naturally by the cannabis plant but is not found in significant amounts in the cannabis plant. As a result, concentrated amounts of delta-8 THC are typically manufactured from hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD). https://lnkd.in/dm4B2UGZ

A comparison of CBD and THC! #CBD and #THC are two of many #cannabinoids present in the #cannabis #plant. Although they have similar structures, they interact with different receptors. As such, only THC causes the high number of people to associate with cannabis. Cannabinoids refer to substances in the cannabis, or Cannabis #sativa, plant. Besides #cannabidiol (CBD) and #delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol #(THC), researchers have identified more than 100 Trusted Sources of other cannabinoids that can influence the human body. Though CBD and THC interact with the endocannabinoid system, there are some important #differences. Notably, unlike #THC, #CBD lacks the psychoactive effects that many people may associate Trusted Source with the #characteristic high of cannabis. Both #CBD and #THC are naturally present in #cannabis #plants. Many people choose to smoke or vape cannabis, but this may not be possible for people with certain conditions. Instead, people can also purchase many different products that contain these #cannabinoids. https://lnkd.in/gzPi4J_s

Understanding the Key Differences Between THCA and THC 🌱 Ever wondered what sets THCA apart from THC? They're two important compounds in cannabis, each with unique properties and effects. Recent research highlights that THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is the non-intoxicating precursor to the psychoactive THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). This means THCA doesn't cause the "high" associated with cannabis use, making it appealing for various therapeutic applications. At a molecular level, THCA transforms into THC through a process called decarboxylation, typically triggered by heat. Knowing these differences can help consumers and professionals better utilize cannabis to its full potential. Have you explored the benefits of THCA? How do you perceive the therapeutic vs. recreational use of cannabis? Let's discuss! #CannabisScience #THCA #THC #MedicalCannabis #CannabisResearch

You must know 💡 CBD vs. THC: What's the Difference? 🌿 CBD and THC are two of many cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant. CBD stands for cannabidiol, and THC stands for tetrahydrocannabinol, both of which are substances found in cannabis plants. Cannabinoids refer to substances in the cannabis, or Cannabis sativa, plant. Besides cannabidiol (CBD) and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), researchers have identified more than 100 other cannabinoids that can influence the human body. 🍃 Although they have similar structures, they interact with different receptors. As such, only THC causes the high people associate with cannabis. 🦋 CBD is often sold as an oil, is not psychoactive, and has certain medicinal properties. THC, on the other hand, is the main psychoactive chemical in marijuana. #cannabis #CBD #THC #hemp #marijuana #knowledge #extracts

A research team found that d-limonene, a chemical naturally present in cannabis, can reduce the anxiety-inducing effects of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis. In a study published in the Journal of Drug and Alcohol Dependence, participants inhaled vaporized d-limonene alone, THC alone, a combination of both, or a placebo. The addition of d-limonene significantly reduced ratings of feeling "anxious/nervous" and "paranoid" compared to THC alone, without altering THC's desired effects. THC interacts with brain receptors to produce relaxation and euphoria, but higher doses can trigger anxiety, fear, and panic. As cannabis strains with high THC levels (20-30%) become more prevalent, d-limonene could help mitigate the risks of THC when used medicinally or recreationally. The study is a step towards making cannabis safer by uncovering ways to reduce THC's adverse effects.
