Feeling the pressure to keep your workshop staffed with skilled technicians? It's a nationwide struggle. The UK technician gap leaves workshops nationwide scrambling to fill crucial roles. But fear not, fellow workshop warriors. Innovative solutions are bubbling under the surface, and I'm here to share the top trends that can help you bridge the gap. 🔸Bite-Sized Training: Ditch the idea of lengthy apprenticeships that take years. Micro-credentials and bite-sized online modules can get recruits workshop-ready faster, meaning less downtime and more productivity for your team. 🔸Upskilling Existing Staff: Your current team is a goldmine! I'd appreciate your investing in targeted training programs to bridge skill gaps within your crew. This keeps your talent pool happy and engaged and ensures your workshop stays ahead of the curve with the latest advancements in the field. 🔸Tech-Powered Diagnostics: Let's face it, time is money. Diagnostic tools powered by AI can streamline troubleshooting and free up your technicians for the complex repairs that require their expertise. These trends are more than just buzzwords – they're game-changers. By embracing these innovative approaches, you can build a future-proof workforce equipped to handle the industry's ever-evolving needs. As we approach the end of National Apprenticeship week it seems appropriate to highlight the crucial role of End Point Assessment and how it serves as the culmination of an apprentices’ journey in validating their knowledge, skills and behaviours in their subject. I am proud to jointly head up the End Point Assessment Organisation at CIRO. As a team, we are committed to excellence and take immense pride in our End Point Assessment provision. Our rigorous assessments are designed to uphold the highest of standards, equipping apprentices with the credentials required to succeed in their apprenticeship. #nationalapprenticeshipweek #apprenticeships #endpointassessment #talentdevelopment
We recently celebrated the completion of our 1000th successful End-Point Assessment! As an Ofqual recognised End-Point Assessment organisation, we’re leading the standards for excellence. Are you looking for an EPA provider for the Train Driver Apprentice Level 3? The process is simple: 1. Your apprentices are registered with us, and we regularly review your EPA requirements. 2. Once you’re satisfied that your apprentice has completed all on-programme learning and gateway criteria, we’ll collect the evidence. 3. We’ll liaise with you to arrange a suitable date for the End-Point Assessment with our independent assessor. 4. Following the successful completion of the EPA, we’ll arrange for the certificate to be sent to you. Our industry-backed reputation safeguards your apprentices' future. If you would like to register an apprentice with CIRO’s EPA service, contact our team with the relevant details by phone: 07311 060603 or by email at epa@railwayoperators.co.uk. #NAW2024 #skillsforlife #celebrationfriday

I want to share an Excel initiative that I believe promotes safer work through the improvement of worker performance. Yes, I am talking about Excel's Apprentice Week. This is one week when our apprentices come together in one place to learn more about the skills required to do their work well, from the most knowledgeable and experienced Excel technicians and other leading refrigeration and air-conditioning experts. Led this year by one of Excel's Managing Directors, Craig Heerdegen, it's all about learning and sharing knowledge. Check out the video below for day three highlights.
Apprentice Training Week Day Three was a big one. Check out this highlights video to see all of the action. We were supported with training sessions delivered by James Yanko (ICE Electrical Ltd) and Howie Rolls (Rivet). #InvestInPeople #excelatwork #excelapprenticeweek #ApprenticeshipWorks #hvacrnz #womenintrades

Introducing Our International Graduate Scheme for Automotive Workshops – STUDENT2SKILL I’m thrilled to share some big news that could be the magic pill for solving the skills gap in the automotive industry. We’ve developed a new initiative that’s going to supercharge the growth of grassroots apprenticeships and secure the future of our industry. The Innovation: Turning Today’s Students into Tomorrow’s Automotive Leaders We've just launched the **STUDENT2SKILL** graduate scheme, aimed at recent international students who’ve completed their degrees in the UK. These graduates aren't just academically strong; they’re also passionate about cars, have a solid foundation in mechanical engineering, and are eager to dive into hands-on technical work. To ensure they hit the ground running, we're putting them through NVQ3 certification. By the time they join your team as junior technicians, they'll be fully certified, skilled, and ready to contribute. **Why This is a Game-Changer:** - No Immediate Sponsorship Hassles: These graduates already have the right to work in the UK, so you won't need to worry about sponsorship from day one. - Trial and Transition: They'll work with your garage for six months on a probationary period at minimum wage. This gives you the chance to see how well they fit into your team. If it’s a match, sponsorship for a 5-year visa is already built into the plan, with Easy2Recruit handling all the details. Our first placement at Binley Woods Service Centre has already passed his MOT training and is ready to become an MOT tester. This is proof that this scheme works and that it could be a fantastic opportunity for your workshop and network to partner with us and launch it across the whole of the automative after market. Ambi Singh says, "This is the way to supercharge the growth of grassroots apprentices and save the automotive world." I would love to discuss how your workshop and network could benefit from this scheme and help secure the future of skilled technicians. Best regards, Ambi Singh Ambi@easy2recruit.co.uk 07545 828167
