On Saturday, March 30, as part of both the National Hockey League (NHL) and Philadelphia Flyers’ efforts to continue to grow the game of hockey to new and diverse audiences, the Flyers announced they will formally partner with University of Delaware to support the development of the University’s first-ever NCAA Division I Women’s Ice Hockey team. The Flyers will support the program’s development through three key pillars of growing the game of hockey, community engagement and developing a world-class women’s ice hockey program through networking and learning opportunities. To celebrate the partnership, newly-announced Delaware Women’s Ice Hockey Head Coach Allison Coomey dropped the ceremonial puck before the Flyers faced off against the Chicago Blackhawks.
