In reading my many work anniversary congratulations after 13 years here at Penna 3 things came to mind: 1. Where do the years go? Whilst we've packed a lot into the last 13 years, it has flown by, so I must be having fun! 2. We should celebrate years of service more fully. Without LinkedIn reminding me, the date would have just passed by. 3. Anniversaries make you think. Do I still love what I do, what have I achieved? Luckily on both I was able to reflect positively. Perhaps worth employers considering how they celebrate service for employees as a key retention tool, as negative answers to my Q2 could lead to employees making a call to a recruiter, like me! Thanks everyone for your good wishes, here's to Year 14 Penna our 50th year.

What are you celebrating this week? There may be loads of things you're worrying about, that you want to get to, that you are holding onto from the last week or two. PUT IT DOWN! For a moment, let it go. Instead, think about what you are celebrating this week. Maybe it's starting the work week with clean pants! Maybe it's supporting your kids as they returned to school. Maybe it's holding a successful meeting or filling your fridge with healthy food options or getting to bed early last night. 📣 Fill in your celebration and then say it out loud or write it down. 🎆 Acknowledge it. ❓ Why? 💡 We're training our brain to see what's going well! It won't automatically do it on its own; our brains have evolved to look out for danger - to see worry, doubt, and red flags everywhere, whether they're real or not. But while we have a brain (and eyes, ears, limbs, etc.), we are not our brain, and we can redirect it. We can build this muscle with practice. We can highlight what's going well and use that to power ourselves forward. I'm doing it right now, as I celebrate writing this post and reaching out to this brilliant community. It's Friday; what are you celebrating this week or reflecting on? It's always good to end the week reviewing your successes, mistakes, failures, or what you have become aware of that will take you forward. A client complained this week that she often felt stuck in a rut but didn't know how to move forward. As she spoke, it was clear that her focus was on what she couldn't do rather than what she could do. When we focus on negative thoughts and problems, we continue to experience those same problems. When we focus on the good in our lives, we attract more positive things. Where do you focus your time and energy? On the negative or positive aspects of your life? Even when you are in a challenging situation, look for solutions rather than problems. You will be surprised how quickly things are resolved and how you feel more in control. What are you celebrating or acknowledging this week? I started using the system last week and have found navigating it easy. But more than anything, the support has been spot on, allowing me to set things up how I want them quickly. ✨ The development of my new website. I can't wait to see the result, although there are a few more weeks before it is ready. It will be worth it. Oh, and on a personal note, I dropped 15 inches off my body thanks to daily exercise, which I love. I am also seeing more weight loss as my body has adjusted to the extra muscles I have gained. If I were a drinker, I would be drinking some bubbly in celebration, but I am not, so it's more water. What are you celebrating this week?
