We’re thrilled to share that The Female Quotient is a finalist in the Shorty Awards for best Branded Series, FQ Trailblazers in History and for our LinkedIn presence 🏆 We believe that change happens through powerful storytelling. Through our “Trailblazers in History” video campaign, we share the stories of “unseen” female change-makers. From historic firsts to pioneering the world’s most innovative concepts, women have made extraordinary contributions to the world as we know it. Yet, so many of these iconic women’s achievements have gone largely unnoticed because they were never documented in history books. For example, Albert Einstein’s first wife, Mileva Marić-Einstein, was a physicist too – and there’s plenty of evidence that her work contributed significantly to his groundbreaking science. They decided to publish under his name because a man's name carried more weight. The purpose of this campaign is simple, but powerful: Make the invisible visible by highlighting forgotten women in history. With a small social team of just a few people (who truly love uncovering the history of trailblazing women) and zero budget, we’ve organically grown this series post by post. Today, I was reminded why we are all remarkable This morning, our Empower & Lead session was small but mighty—and I have to say, the energy in the (virtual) room was incredible. 💫 We celebrated everything from stepping out of our comfort zones to owning our achievements, no matter how big or small. One of the things we talked about was how it’s not bragging if it’s based on facts. I watched as these incredible women shared their wins, and every single one of them blew me away. Whether it was running 5K for the first time, landing a speaking gig, or finally asking for what they deserve, we were all shining in our own unique ways. Here’s the thing: We spend too much time waiting for someone to recognize our brilliance. But we are the main characters of our own stories. If we don’t celebrate our own wins, who will? I dream of filling a room with 100 powerful women—cheering each other on, holding each other accountable, and most importantly, celebrating ourselves unapologetically. Next month, on the first Thursday, we’ll be doing it again—and I’d love for YOU to be part of it. Incorporating the transformative message of the song "THE GIFT" by Blue used for the edited video of this Olympic ice dance pair champions, we are reminded of the profound impact of appreciating and ELEVATING WOMEN in all facets of life, including the business world. The song's narrative, emphasizing giving more than receiving, mirrors the urgent need to address and rectify gender inequities in the corporate sector, leadership roles, and broader societal contributions made by women. Recent statistics highlight the challenges women face in the workplace, particularly in leadership positions. Despite women's aspirations and capabilities, the proportion of roles held by women dramatically falls from entry-level positions to the C-suite, with women occupying nearly 50% of entry-level roles but only 25% in the C-suite, and a mere 12% in STEM roles. This discrepancy underscores the critical need to rewrite women's history, ensuring their contributions are recognized and valued equally. The "Women in the Workplace 2023 report" by McKinsey further illuminates the obstacles women encounter, such as microaggressions, which significantly impact their psychological safety and career progression. Women who experience these microaggressions are four times more likely to experience burnout. Despite these challenges, the importance of flexible work arrangements is highlighted, benefiting not only women, who disproportionately handle childcare and household duties, but all employees by promoting a better work-life balance. To address these disparities, companies are encouraged to track outcomes for women's representation, empower managers as change agents, confront microaggressions, maximize the potential of flexible work, and mend the foundational disparities that hinder women's advancement. Moreover, investing in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is seen as crucial for the future success of companies, with 60% of companies increasing their financial and staffing investments in DEI over the past year. In tying this back to the essence of "The Gift," it's clear that the path to a better future for all lies in recognizing and amplifying the contributions and appreciating the GIFTS OF WOMEN.🎁 Just as the song suggests happiness is found in giving and supporting others, so too can society find greater harmony and progress by elevating women in all areas of life. This commitment will pave the way for REWRITING WOMEN'S HISTORY, achieving pay equity, and ensuring women's rightful place in leadership roles across the board. 🎉 To the white women who showed up—YOU are leading the charge! 🎉 I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible women who attended the RAARE Woman Collective Town Hall Summit. Your presence, vulnerability, and commitment to this work are exactly what’s needed to drive real, transformative change. By showing up, sharing your stories, and embracing the discomfort of growth, you are truly leading by example. We were guided over the past two nights by Dr. Nikki R. and Karen D. Smith Butler, two incredible Black women leaders who lead with love, compassion, and grace. They not only educated and supported us but reminded us of the urgency of this work. Racism and hate impact each and every one of us—regardless of our skin color—and the cost is something we can no longer ignore. Hearing the stories of the women of RAARE was a powerful reminder that racism has stolen something from each of us, and it’s time to take action. Together, we have the power to advance racial equity and create a world where racism can no longer live. These last two days were incredible. I knew when God gave me the vision to start the RAARE Woman Collective that this would be the most powerful and unprecedented experience for: 💣Women who were already leaning into their understanding of how racism works. 💣Women who had read all the books, watched all the movies and had completed as much independent study as they could, but didn’t know what to do with any of it 💣Women who are paying attention to the impact that racism has had in their own lives, the relationships that it has stolen, the friendships that it has eviscerated, the grandchildren that you can no longer see, the daughter or son-in-law that is not accepted by other family members 💣Women who are angry and disappointed at the state of affairs regarding race relations in our country, but know better than to lead in their advocacy work with that same anger and disappointment, 💣Women who are hungry for the language and resources to reframe how they realize impact… RAARE connects with women as leaders, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, cousin, community volunteers, best friends…consciousness, curators and influencers. We lift you AND your work wherever you are. We ask you to simply reflect on the spaces and places you already are: your home, your workplace, your community, and start your racial equity advocacy there, where you ostensibly already have critical “know, like and trust” currency. Uplifting white women who have a desire to understand the power they have in just their proximity to other people who, on the topic of racial equity, must be moved. Giving them the language, change management strategies, supportive community, tools, attributes, mindset strengthening and norms,to assure success as an advocate in this most precarious doctrine. And with all of that as foundation, you develop your annual racial equity plan that we support you in executing.
