I often encounter this point of view: “#Hiring 🤝 and #Promotions ⬆ are completely different - one is pure guesswork and the other is just apparent since you work together”. It begs the question: why is the Peter Principle still so prominent? It just supports the fact that #hiring and #promotions have significant intersections - in both cases you need to define and evaluate the #potential for the next role.
