Technology is amazing and frightening. With every new technological achievement, we change the way society functions. How we interact with others. How we communicate within a global environment. How we understand ourselves and the reality we exist in. How does the next advancement change my livelihood? In many fictional stories there is a concept of human power becoming as new machines fill the traditional workforce roles. This is a grave concern for people that make a living from their creative abilities and honed artistic skills. This concern arises from the introduction of AI and its ability to mimic written, visual, and auditory art forms. What can people do to remain needed within this world? First is to learn. If a new technology appears to threaten your livelihood, seek out a library and spend a few hours reading credible articles about the new technology and how it may be used. With this information anyone can do one of a few things. One option is to identify new jobs and opportunities for growth by making threatening technology into a powerful tool. The second option is when the knowledge of a given innovative technology reveals how dangerous it is. This gives people an opportunity to engage their federal and local government for assistance in creating a safe environment to use the new technology. The first two options give you the power to embrace and take control of the changing technological environment, the final option is the “do nothing” option. When you simply let technology run its course and just go with the flow. You embrace whatever changes it brings. Celebrate the joy as the wonderous tech makes your world incredible. You also take the hit on the chin and keep on going when tech brings about a minor downfall. Yes, the choice to let it be is perfectly all right. We at Hace Más make it with a purpose to help make the world wonderful. We always try to choose the first two options. To use new tools to build a better world and encourage support for making a technological world safer for all. We know the choice you make as the world advances is the best one for you.
