I thrive on the fusion of creativity, innovation, and meaningful impact. When you bring these elements together, incredible things unfold! One of my most exhilarating experiences was working on the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art X Sustainability series. It began amidst the challenges of the pandemic-induced lockdown, where we seized the opportunity to pivot towards digital engagement. Our mission? To connect with our audience in revolutionary ways and unveil the undeniable connection between art and sustainability. Without the luxury of face-to-face meetings, we embraced an inventive approach, heavily relying on phone clips and stock images. This not only led to reduced resource consumption but also stretched our creative boundaries, forcing us to think outside the box. Throughout this exhilarating journey, we collaborated with a diverse cadre of artists and innovative minds, all fueled by a shared passion for sustainable practices. Fast forward a few years, and sustainability has taken center stage in our conversations, underscoring its paramount importance in today's world. Our goal? To integrate it seamlessly into our daily lives. #Art #Sustainability #Creativity #Innovation #KiranNadarMuseumOfArt #PandemicChallenges https://lnkd.in/dq_CWbRt

The concept of "sustainability" has been gaining importance in the museum world for years, before the International Council of Museums (ICOM) officially included it in their definition of a museum in 2022. Today it’s widely seen as a key aspect of a museum’s environmental, economic, and cultural responsibilities. However, the concept of sustainability and its practical application can differ significantly depending on individual perspectives. New research in Nature Portfolio explores this idea, with a focus on museums in China: https://lnkd.in/eJxiMxtR

Today is International Day of Happiness!😊 We asked a handful of our designers a few questions about happiness in the museum and design field... 1. What’s the happiest exhibition you’ve ever designed, and what elements made it so joyful? 2. What brings you happiness in design? 3. What role do you think design plays in promoting happiness and well-being within museum spaces? 4. What brings you joy working at Mather & Co? Share your input on these questions in the comments! 🙌 #internationaldayofhappiness #happiness #wellbeing #design #museumdesign #wellbeingdesign

Dieter Rams pointing at things he doesn’t like in The Museum of Modern Art: “I can’t deal with things like this. … I find things like this unnecessary. We don’t need them. We should forgo them because we need the resource for better things.” But the real lesson comes at the end: “There is a story attached to everything people do that has to be told. Even in the case of objects I don’t like, there is still a story.” Learn the story behind the designs you love and maybe, more importantly, the ones you don’t. Not the museum blurb or award announcement, but what actually happened from the designers behind them. It’s not too difficult to learn who was on a project, connect with them, and ask to hear about it. What’s the best design story you’ve heard? ………………. My goal is to regularly share as much of what I have learned from others as an innovation leader as possible. Follow for weekly insights. #design #innovation #leadership

Did you know there are more museums in the US than Starbucks and McDonalds combined? 🍟 ☕ And one of the uncovered truths about all these museums? They have quite the carbon footprint 👣 According to Museums Galleries Scotland, a museum's main areas of emissions are: 💡 Energy usage 📦 Collection management, storage and care 🚮 Waste management It makes sense when you think about it - I think of my curator friend who's often jetsetting around the globe with high-worth exhibition pieces for showcasing at various top museums. While museums can be 'like a small city', there are numerous ways to manage their emissions. Which is where international nonprofit organisation Ki Culture comes in. Ki Culture believes that museums are uniquely vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and so helps museum staff rethink and redesign their systems. While museums are treasure troves of history, culture, and art, they also have a role to play in pursuing sustainability. What's your favourite museum? #art #climate #sustainability

Offering my customers the best service also involves looking at a lot of art in order to give them individualised advice. It also involves thinking outside the box and exchanging ideas with others. For example, I recently attended Art for Tomorrow in Venice. An excellent event that I would recommend to anyone interested in art plus. "Impferfect Beauty" was this year's theme and attracted first-class speakers such as Philippe Stark, Sean Scully, Mariet Westermann, Sandra Jackson-Dumont, Achilles Tsaltas and many more. Most of the events took place in the Palazzo Diedo in Venice, which has just been renovated and is owned by the Berggruen Institute. The "floating city" was an appropriate setting to consider the complex problems that beauty can bring: How can cities and cultural sites celebrate their heritage without becoming victims of their own success through overtourism? How can museums and monuments protect themselves from the inevitable impact of the climate crisis? How should institutions and artists think about and reflect the concerns of their changing populations? Underpinning it all was the central question of how the arts can unite and heal. The sessions were excellently led by The New York Times moderators. The The Democracy & Culture Foundation organizes the Art for Tomorrow Talks, as well as the Democracy Forum in Athens and other events. A big thank you to Achilles Tsaltas, President of The Democracy & Culture Foundation and his excellent team for this top-class event Have you already discussed the above mentioned topics in the context of art and artists? What role does art play in your company and private life? If you want to know more about these advantages of art, please contact me. I look forward to our discussion! #art #internationalartbridge #petrabeckerart #artconsulting #artfortomorrow #venice #thedemocracyandculture #artandinnovation
