As the year 2023 comes to an end,I thought of penning down some thoughts of the last year... 1)People will always be at the core of any business irrespective of bringing in new tech or new processes. 2) You need to have conviction in your plan and should always work backwards,with end date in mind. No plan can be executed if the team driving it is not aligned,align them first take their suggestions, make the changes based on suggestions and drive all your action plans. 3)Any project will have to be driven by all in team and not alone as an individual. Each person has to take their own responsibility, accountability and drive the projects keeping timeline in mind. 4) Keep your loved ones with you and always be greatful of them to be part of your journey. 5)Never ignore anyone's contribution in your life. There are ones who are silent and patient and give heart & soul to ensure that things go well for you. 6) Do not stop doing what you believe in.Trust the process and results will come.There will be roadblocks and you need to navigate through them but for sure results will come. Always thankful to the team who helped navigate this beautiful year of change.....Wish you all a HAPPY New Year in advance...... Starting my own business has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences in my life so far... Here are my take aways from my first year of operating! It has taught me resilience, and the mindset to move directionally correctly rather than wait for everything to be absolutely perfect. Results compound when you focus on getting 1% better everyday. Some people asked me "why did you want to start your own business?" and to be honest the question really made me think... I think in business (and in life for that matter), you have a choice. Go for it and see what you're really made of. Or don't try and live wondering "what if?" For those who know me I'm not a "what if" kind of person... One of the best quotes that I think about almost everyday is actually one from my dad (My father is a tradie who owned his own painting and decorating business for over 20+ years ). My dad said to me 4 words that have changed my thinking. So simple yet still hold to this day. Those 4 words? "Have a crack son" Very aussie of him I know! But if you simply show up and have a crack at whatever you're doing you'll be better than everyone else who isn't "having a crack". Time and effort compound. Mindset, courage and consistency are the key to becoming a more competent and successful person. It just happens to also pay massive dividends to your business too! My one piece of advice to anyone thinking of going out on your own... Put people and providing value as your first focus, the rest tends to follow quite quickly! Provide value and expect nothing in return and focus on building genuine relations rather than "clientele". People buy from people they like. AI or tech won't ever change that! I can't wait to repost this years down the track and see how far everything has come. Until next time!

A few ideas from me = 1] Anti-List 2] Drawer 3] Atomic Habit 1] Anti-List Instead of a gratitude jar, you can have an anti-gratitude jar. Think of all the bad things that have happened but you have got through them. You have learned so much and have been transformed by adversity. This may be even more powerful than gratitude because the human brain tends to remember bad things more than good things. Why? Because bad things are threats. Hence, an anti-list is so powerful because you have the benefit of history. Your past has shown that you possess the fortitude to overcome your obstacles. I call these moments the bad-good times, or the good-bad times. 2] Drawer Instead of a jar, one can try putting these notes in a drawer. I don't know about you Jay, but where am I going to get a jar? At a jar shop? I think they are all closed now, but some might be ajar ! At any moment, you can open your drawer of amazing notes. This gives you a chance to reflect upon the good things that have happened. 3] Atomic Habit = Start small You can try this idea just for January. If you like it, try it again for February. Start by testing it out for just a week or a month. If the habit is fun and fulfiling and meaningful , then you may want to maintain it. But start out small.
