It's been a great week for Lawtech Software Group … firstly in Toronto before crowning off at New York's prestigious Legalweek. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇬🇧 The visit, led by the Department for Business and Trade, was focused on showcasing British innovations in legal technology to the North American market. So, in short it’s been a fantastic week where innovative legaltech products like Verify 365® - Risk & Compliance Technology, Lexium® - Legal Practice Management Software, DynamicID® - Biometric ID Checks and Lawyer 365® - Legal Advice App were showcased to a completely new market. Lawtech Software Group’s CEO Rudi Kesic shared his thoughts,"This trade mission has truly underscored the UK's position as a leader in legal technology and established a new model for international legaltech collaboration. At risk of adding to an already over-filled sea of posts about Chambers and Legal500 rankings (apologies in advance), it's been a great couple of weeks for Hogan Lovells and for my team (and me) in particular for a few reasons: 1. The amazing team has retained its Band 1 ranking for FinTech in both regulatory and commercial categories. 2. I have been named a key lawyer for FinTech Corporate and Commercial among a list of superstar lawyers across multiple teams within the firm. 3. I have also been named as an "Associate to Watch" in Chambers UK's IT and Outsourcing rankings, being ranked for the first time. This year for me has posed the new challenge of finding my feet as a "senior" lawyer, with a range of additional expectations over and above the usual. It can be daunting and not always clear whether you are on the right path (particularly as you begin to realise there is no such thing as one "right path"), but receiving these comments from our clients is a reminder of the essence of this job underneath it all - working with and advising amazing people and clients, and getting geeky over new technologies every day. Thank you to all of our awesome clients for the kind words, and to John Salmon, Louise Crawford and others in the team for the guidance and support. Here's to continuing on this path and seeing what's in store for the next wild year in technology/FinTech.

The long march of lawyers across Europe continues apace more than 50 years after US law firms, together with their Magic Circle counterparts, first opened offices in Paris and Brussels. A new breed of ambitious firms now see further potential. History provides some context. As attention turned to Frankfurt, followed by Milan and Madrid, the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 led to new markets emerging in eastern Europe. By the millennium, several of the EU’s largest independent players had been subsumed into the growing army of English law firms.
