Reboot. Reset. Regenerate. Middle East 2.0. Last week's Cybertech Global Tel Aviv conference sent a strong message to the world as Israel's President Isaac Herzog so eloquently stated in his keynote address:
“In the face of unimaginable devastation and brutality, the Israeli community has shown unbelievable solidarity, resilience, and love. We have shown that we are unbreakable. The gathering here of some of the best and most creative minds in Israel and around the world says so much about the Israeli spirit and its ability to rise from tragedy, from unthinkable loss, and reinvent itself time and time again.
Hamas and its Iranian sponsors sought to block the winds of cooperation and integration blowing throughout our region”, Herzog said. “We can turn this tragedy into an opportunity to build the Middle East 2.0, to reboot, reset, regenerate and build a new architecture and a new operating system for our region,” he added."
Cybertech Global TLV was attended by industry leaders, global investors including as Cisco, Check Point Software Technologies Ltd IAI - Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI)and basketball star turned venture capitalist Omri Casspi. Other events under the Cybertech banner take place throughout the year in Rome, New York and Singapore.
And yet amidst the innovation, incredible display of cyber security startups and veteran companies, a stark reminder what Israel is fighting for. In the main hall at the Tel Aviv Expo, dozens of yellow chairs were set up, along with pictures of the 133 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
