Today met one person who just came back from Shirdi Pilgrim. One week of walking, 6 hrs per day walk covering 200 plus km. He has been doing it for the last 18 years. I asked him what are the key takeaways from this walk. 1) Never give up whatever the physical condition. 2) With a group of people with you on the journey with hardly anyone knowing each other, anyone who is behind is not left off, he is carried throughout to the next destination. 3) Break away from yourself; created by self and other's perception, just remaining as one of the travelers, a sole identity. Understanding what he said, could we derive similar parallels in the organization - As a team, we should take on all the physical and mental constraints and overcome them, not leave our team members, carry them, and lastly, create our identity as a team and get the things done together till the journey lasts......

Absolutely, recognition in the workplace or any group setting is indeed about more than just tangible rewards. It’s about feeling valued and knowing that your contributions are making a difference. When people feel recognized, they’re often more motivated, engaged, and committed to continuing their good work. It fosters a positive environment where everyone can thrive and feel like an integral part of the team’s achievements. It’s a powerful aspect of human interaction that helps build trust and camaraderie. If you’re leading a team or part of one, fostering a culture of appreciation can be incredibly beneficial.

Have you ever felt truly valued for what you do at work? Recognition is more than just getting a physical reward; it's the feeling you get when you know your hard work has made a real impact. When your efforts are acknowledged, it's a sign that what you do matters, that you're an important part of the team, and that your contributions help drive success. This understanding fuels your motivation and satisfaction, making every day at work meaningful.

Internal relationships at work are just as, if not more, important than external ones. Go out of your way to treat your colleagues better than the way you would want to be treated. Communicate with them if you aren't sure about something and just make sure you are doing something right way. You are going to have a lot more success with your team pulling for you and trying to help you win.

What you want in a Managing Director is someone who aligns with your values and ethics whilst bringing a unique outlook to your world and a skillset that compliments yours. Someone just like Kevin Tewis-Allen 🤝 Kevin and I are similar and driven by the same goals. We’re fine with giving each other hard feedback and challenge each daily but with the utmost respect. We always want to see how far we can take our success and that has been a goal of ours since the start but at the same time, we direct our attention and priorities differently 🙏 In fact, we are really lucky we agree on nearly everything, it’s pretty scary! What makes it work is that most of what we do can be approached as divide and conquer so we can get so much more done 📈 The way our personalities balance is one of the big reasons we’ve made it this far and can do what we do. We’ve taken risks, had difficult conversations and faced some challenges but have thrived together. After a few years, you really get to understand your working relationship with someone and that’s a strong position to be in. Here’s to the last two years of working together 🦁
