I’m concerned… 😕 I’ve just read an interview with a theme park CEO in the attractions industry press. The CEO shared the vision and masterplan 🗺 for the park for 2030 and beyond. 🔎 Inside the masterplan: fantastic new attractions, big expansion areas, and ambitious sustainability goals. Among the sustainability goals, notable initiatives include the installation of large solar panels and advanced systems to generate extra energy. ⚡ ✔ Great and innovative But I miss something... It’s just one word. Food ⁉ Surprisingly, "food" is entirely absent from the park's sustainability goals! How could their second source of revenue be overlooked in such a comprehensive vision?? I think that more sustainable food deserves a prominent place in a park's long-term strategy. 🎢🍽 #sustainableeating #themepark #attractionsindustry #sustainablefood

Fantastic morning at the Deep Green launch event in London!! If you have not heard or read about Deep Green before...you should check out their beyond inspiring proposition. In a nut shell: 📈 Data centres generate a huge amount of "waste" heat 🏆 Heat is a precious commodity - especially for swimming pools...many of which are under the threat of closure or reduced use due to rising energy costs 💡Deep Green put their data centres inside swimming pool premises and swap space+cooling for free heat for the pool! Such a simple, elegant and sustainable approach to a service that generates so much waste, energy use and carbon emissions. It is the best story I have heard in the circular economy for some time and it is REAL. You can choose to buy your data centre space with Deep Green now. Who wouldn't want to be part of it?? Congrats Mark Bjornsgaard and team for turning this vision into reality 💙

What is the most sustainable city in the world? As the global community continues to combat climate change and resource depletion, some cities have emerged as leaders in sustainable innovation. These cities are creating more livable environments while drastically reducing their environmental footprints. ✅ Let's explore some of the most sustainable cities in the world: 1️⃣ Singapore: A Green City-State 〰️ Known for its 'City in Nature' vision, Singapore integrates greenery with urban spaces and uses advanced technologies for water and energy management. 2️⃣Copenhagen: Leading the Carbon Neutral Race 〰️ Its cycling culture, reliance on wind power, and green urban planning are driving significant reductions in emissions, making it one of the greenest cities in the world. 3️⃣ Oslo: Electric Mobility and Renewable Power 〰️ With 100% of its electricity from hydropower and half of its new car sales being electric, Oslo is a leader in renewable energy and electric mobility. 4️⃣ Vancouver: North America's Greenest City 〰️ Vancouver has one of the lowest carbon footprints of any major city in North America. It relies heavily on hydroelectric power and is actively investing in green buildings, public transportation and waste reduction. 5️⃣ Zurich: Efficient and Smart Urban Design 〰️ With a strong focus on clean energy and smart urban design, Zurich has one of the highest recycling rates in the world and continues to reduce its carbon footprint through renewable energy initiatives. 6️⃣ Stockholm: A Pioneer in Waste Management 〰️ Stockholm's waste-to-energy system and clean public transport makes it a pioneer in sustainable urban living. Its goal to be fossil fuel-free by 2040 demonstrates its forward-thinking approach to urban planning. 7️⃣ Reykjavik: Powered by Geothermal Energy 〰️ Reykjavik runs entirely on geothermal and hydroelectric energy. The city is on track to be carbon neutral by 2040, focusing on clean transport and renewable energy. 8️⃣ Helsinki: Extensive Use of District Heating 〰️ Helsinki is on a fast track to becoming carbon neutral by 2035. The Finnish capital is known for its extensive use of district heating, which reduces reliance on fossil fuels by using waste heat for heating buildings 🟠 The cities of Copenhagen, Vancouver, Helsinki and others demonstrate that sustainability is not just a goal, but a reality being achieved through innovation and commitment. 🟢 From renewable energy to sustainable transportation and green spaces, these cities are setting the stage for a greener future. ✅ What barriers do you think cities face in becoming more sustainable, and how can they be overcome? #SustainableCities #RenewableEnergy #Innovation #ESG #Sustainability #BrandBuilderTalents I'm Jeff Loo , a Singaporean finance professional currently pursuing advanced certifications in sustainability and deeply committed to create a positive impact on the planet.😀 https://lnkd.in/gcCyQKmi

The City of Moorhead has once again been recognized for its outstanding sustainability efforts, maintaining its Step 5 status in the Minnesota GreenStep program. Moorhead is honored to be one of only 32 Minnesota cities that has fully advanced to GreenStep 5 status, with 149 participating cities and tribal nations in the 14 -year-old challenge, assistance, and recognition initiative. Key efforts contributing to this achievement include reducing energy usage in city-owned buildings, increasing the percentage of streetlights that are LEDs, planting more trees, and expanding renewable energy generation sites. Additionally, Moorhead residents have significantly contributed by reducing residential solid waste per person and embracing composting. “Ultimately, this exemplifies Moorhead’s commitment to a sustainable future,” shared Ethan Johnk, Assistant City Planner and GreenStep program lead with the City of Moorhead. To maintain Step 5 status, the community must improve on at least three metrics each year, with progress tracked across 17 categories.
