𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: The government pledges funding for R&D Pioneer Group has welcomed the support for the life sciences and planetary health sectors announced in the budget today (30 October), with Chancellor Rachel Reeves pledging funding for research and development. The government will also maintain current rates of R&D tax relief to drive innovation, and has confirmed up to £520 million for a new Life Sciences Innovative Manufacturing Fund. At today’s Budget Focus Group at Kent Science Park with BBC Radio Kent and Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), Pioneer Group’s Corporate Development Director Miranda Knaggs reacted to the measures unveiled: “The announcements made today will help improve investor confidence and ensure the UK is recognised as a life sciences superpower. As part of ADHD Awareness Month, we’re proud to support Health Innovation East Midlands in championing the life-changing success of the QbTest for ADHD Diagnosis. HIEM piloted the use of QbTest within three NHS mental health trusts as an objective assessment tool. 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐐𝐛𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐃𝐇𝐃 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝: ▪️ 95,000 hours of clinical time saved ▪️ £38.5M in cost savings for the NHS ▪️ 71,000+ children and young people benefiting from more accurate diagnoses This innovation continues to spread, and it has been adopted by a further 10 NHS trusts nationwide.
