2024 is coming in strong! Let's go!
Backstory:
We moved to Detroit in 2020 (for me it was a homecoming). However, what we were unprepared for were the city's air quality issues. Detroit is plagued by some of the most harmful and pervasive forms of air pollution, including particle pollution and ozone. This has resulted in high rates of asthma and other respiratory problems. The effect on me has been direct and personal. Within a year of living here, I began to suffer from heightened respiratory issues, such as increased congestion and sinus problems, and these have persisted.
What we are doing about it:
If you know me then you know I am a fierce advocate for Detroit. I sing the praises of this great city... and I'm also honest - and vocal and active - about where we need to do and be better. Air quality is one important area. We urgently need to increase green spaces and implement infrastructure that promotes cleaner air. Additionally, adopting pro-air quality policies and zoning regulations that safeguard and improve the health and well-being of both residents and visitors is crucial. That is why this year, as part of our neighborhood advocacy, we planted 130 trees in Hubbard Richard (with more to come) and also reached out to JustAir SolutionsDarren RileySarah Craft to see what we could do to get better data through air quality monitoring. That initial conversation inspired a broader effort to launch an air quality pilot in Hubbard Richard, Corktown, and North Corktown where - in partnership with Michigan Central and others - we are taking a tri-neighborhood, system-level approach to improving our air quality. This begins by first getting accurate data (which JustAir will provide us through 6 air quality monitors, dispersed across the area) and leveraging that data to enhance awareness of air quality and propel solutions. Let's make Detroit the city with the best air quality in the world!
On a higher level, this is an example for how you citizen:
1. Identify what you care about / what your community/neighborhood needs
2. Get involved in your community
3. Help identify and mobilize solutions for the thing you care about/what your community needs
Reach out to me if you need a brainstorm/thought/idea partner on how to awaken and activate your citizen within.

Economic development lies at the center of DDD’s mission and vision statement.
As part of this year’s #EconDevWeek, we wish to recognize the work and thought behind our organization’s approach to Economic Development.
To realize our long-term vision for a thriving city center, DDD prioritizes six areas to focus upon in partnership with the City of New Orleans, State of Louisiana, and other relevant organizations. This week, we will be sharing these six focus areas—and their associated strategies—with you, starting today with #1 and #2.
1) Business Recruitment, Retention and Expansion: DDD aims to facilitate the development of businesses Downtown through capitalizing on growth in the innovation and entrepreneurship system, developing strong relationships with local office tenants, and catalyzing increase in the retail market by supporting foot traffic and vastation.
2) Built Environment: Our organization seeks to support the cultivation of a thriving real estate development market by coordinating incentives and tax credits to DDD redevelopment sites. We hope to work with the City and development agencies to remove barriers to the production of new uses—specifically housing.
Curious to know more about our long-term focus areas and strategies to address them? Visit the link to read the full DDD Economic Development Strategy (https://bit.ly/3JPBXjE.) or stay tuned to our page for further highlights later this week.

Why I Invest in Cincinnati (And Why You Should Too)!
I’m from California, but I just bought two quadplexes in Cincinnati. Here’s why:
1. Better Returns: Multi-family homes like quadplexes offer great cash-on-cash returns.
2. Booming Market: Cincinnati’s rental market is hot right now.
3. Midterm Rentals: With all the hospitals, midterm rentals are exploding.
Got both properties for $190k, $100k in rehab, and expect to walk away with $110k profit. Cincinnati is where it’s at! 💸💸

🌟 Unlocking the Future of Structural Health Monitoring: Introducing SHM Vittorio! 🌟
Are you passionate about infrastructure safety and efficiency? Look no further! The SHM Vittorio System by Nplus S.r.l. is here to revolutionize the way we monitor and maintain civil structures. 🏗️
🔍 What is SHM? Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) is like having a personal health tracker for buildings. Just like our bodies need regular check-ups, so do our bridges, viaducts, and other critical infrastructure. 🏢
🚀 Why Choose SHM Vittorio?
Safety First: The SHM Vittorio system ensures your building’s well-being. It detects static, dynamic, and seismic changes, providing early warnings before issues escalate. 🚧
Cost Efficiency: Say goodbye to unexpected maintenance costs! Vittorio optimizes interventions based on real-time data. No more overhauls when a minor tweak will do. 💰
Data in the Cloud: Imagine having all your building’s health data accessible from anywhere. Vittorio offers remote data control and cloud storage. 🌐
Custom Solutions: Every structure is unique. Vittorio adapts with various hardware options, tailored to your building’s quirks. 🛠️
