Dan Bowyer shot me down today in front of 200 people and it was awesome.
What a day!
I came to learn, connect, and support. And Emmie Faust absolutely delivered.
The first Female Founders Rise conference seen 200+ female founders come together to support one another and help each other grow our missions. And I was all in for the adventure 🚀
So, when Emmie asked who wants to send their deck in to be analysed, LIVE, I went for it. Not exactly having a deck ready and what I did have was an animation that needed unpicking and would be read without the voiceover.
I expected to be absolutely rinsed, but Dan was kind, who knew Venture Capitalists could be kind, but wonderfully announced his critism.
Which I lapped up and needed to hear.
But what was beautiful and so well executed about today was the following presentation provided the understanding and support to the changes I needed to make.
I am not exaggerating when I say this presentation, delivered by Matt Lerner and Nopadon Wongpakdee, was pure gold. All of us felt like we'd found One Eyed Willy's Treasure Chest #iykyk
Today I met the most incredible people (who need a separate post to shine) developing the most wonderful and change-making businesses. I am looking forward to supporting and getting to know these women further.
To the Team FFR, thank you so much 🙏
Investing in female founders is shockingly low, as it is for social impact businesses, let's hope with initiatives like today we see the change we need to see #Inclusion #ProfitForPurpose #ImpactInvesting #FemaleFounders
ID: I'm stood facing the camera grinning like a cheshire cat trying to look cool and as if I totally belong at Google. Behind me is the iconic Google HQ. The word Google brightly light up above my head but not to be out done I am dressed in a long bright red coat, blanketed by a rainbow scarf, and multi coloured satchel, as if my huge mop of blonde curls doesn't make me stand out enough. You can see right into the foyer through the glass frontage. I expected colourful ball pits and giant games but alas it looks like a normal corporate entrance.
Looking forward to this!
