3D GIS is Your Data Multi-Tool What my clients are always amazed by is the power of 3D GIS to integrate heterogeneous data in a stunning visual interface. It helps companies access their 2D GIS data along with any 3D content from various worlds like UAV survey, design, BIM, laser scanning, etc. However, what makes the real difference between a physical multi-tool and 3D GIS? Many company users can utilize a 3D digital twin simultaneously. Not just by one owner. All in one, and one for all. Have you heard how a ‘3D GIS Orchestra’ sounds? I can get you some records! Keep following, and don’t be too modest to get in touch with me directly. #gis #3dgis #3dvisualization #smartsite #digitaltwin #skyline

Co-Founder | BIM Consultant | Digital Twin | Pharma Clean Room | Healthcare | Industrial Design | Marketing & Devlopment
The role of a BIM Coordinator involves merging orthophotomaps, obtained through drones or planes, with Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) for infrastructure projects. They also integrate Geographic Information System (GIS) data, including land development plans and hydrology, into the current situation model. Using services like Web Map Service (WMS), they seamlessly connect these datasets for comprehensive project planning. Certain programs like Trimble Quadri enable direct integration with WMS for efficient collaboration. Regarding your inquiry, while I don't have personal experience, I can provide insights based on available information. Integrating BIM and GIS data is crucial for enhanced project understanding and planning. It facilitates better decision-making and collaboration among stakeholders, leading to more efficient and informed project outcomes. #BIMCoordinator #Orthophotomaps #DTM #GISintegration #WebMapService #TrimbleQuadri #InfrastructureProjects #ProjectPlanning #Collaboration #OpenBIM

ONEGEO Director | Providing clean and reliable worldwide Building Data for Analysis and Visualisation
A good way to evaluate the accuracy of a dataset? Looking at its metadata! 👀 Metadata can hold invaluable insights about the quality of your geospatial dataset. Because it tells a story about the origin of your data, frequency of updates, and other key details that hep you gauge data accuracy. But what should you look out for? The top 3 things we recommend checking are the data source, age, and processing methods ⬇️ 1️⃣ Understand the Source of Your Data Metadata provides crucial information about the source of your data. For instance, the data might be from Lidar sources, manual mapping, or high-resolution satellite imagery. Each of these sources has its unique characteristics and potential errors. Understanding your data source and its potential inaccuracies is the first step towards evaluating your data accuracy. 2️⃣ Check the Data Collection Date Metadata typically includes information about when the data was collected or last updated. This is especially important in fast-changing urban environments where building footprints and attributes can change quickly due to construction, renovation, or demolition. 3️⃣ Review the Collection and Processing Methods Metadata often describes the methods used for data collection and processing. This could be Lidar scanning, photogrammetry, manual surveying, or others. Each of these methods comes with its own potential errors and biases, which it pays to be aware of. By thoroughly evaluating your metadata, you're not just checking for data accuracy! You're ensuring that the data you’re using is fit for your project's purpose. So you can make informed decisions and optimise your project outcomes. Never underestimate the value of good metadata—it's a roadmap to understanding your data 🗺️ #Metadata #DataAccuracy #DataQuality #3DBuildingData #BuildingFootprints

Unlock the potential of Scan to BIM by collaborating with a team of experts.
Allen & Company: Surveying • Mapping • Geospatial Services is a service provider of multiple departments such as Subsurface Utility Exploration (SUE)Shawn Maturo, Land Surveying Jim Rickman, Construction and Builders Dan Martone, and Advance Technology Aaron Byrd. This project was a collaboration between our Advance Technology and SUE department. The deliverable was a model depicting the post-tension cables in the slabs on floors 2,3,4. With SUE's technology using their Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and the Advance Technology (Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon RTC360 and NavVis VLX2), we can combine the two and deliver a beautiful project. Thank you OneClick BIM, for modeling this site. With your precision scan to BIM services, we were able to provide this project to the client. Thank you, Sorin Popa, for your advanced video editing skills by combining the point clouds, model, and CAD drawings. The video below is Mr. Sorin's outstanding deliverable, and we are beyond happy with his services. #realitycapture #innovation #technology #drones #laserscanning #slam #scantobim #digitization #gpr

Uncover Hidden Potential: Unveiling Your Construction Site with Digital Terrain Models (DTMs) Is your construction project built on a foundation of outdated surveying methods? Imagine having a powerful tool that goes beyond basic data collection, revealing the hidden secrets of your site's topography. Look no further than Digital Terrain Models (DTMs)! ❌ Traditional Methods Leave You in the Dark: Traditional surveying techniques provide limited insights, leaving you with a flat picture of your site. This can lead to unforeseen challenges and delays during construction. ✅ Unlock a Detailed Elevation Map: Drone surveys with DTM generation create a highly accurate digital elevation map of your entire construction site. This detailed model captures the precise contours, slopes, and variations of the terrain. ✅ Informed Planning and Excavation Optimization: With a DTM in hand, you can make informed decisions about site planning, excavation strategies, and foundation design. Identify potential drainage issues and optimize earthwork operations, saving time and resources. ✅ Streamlined Collaboration and Risk Mitigation: The visual clarity of a DTM fosters better communication and collaboration between project stakeholders. Identify potential risks early on and proactively mitigate them, ensuring a smoother construction process. ✅ Cost Savings and Sustainability: DTMs can help you optimize excavation volumes, minimizing waste and reducing hauling costs. This translates to a more sustainable and cost-effective construction project. Embrace the Power of Digital Terrain Models! Integrate drone surveys with DTM generation into your construction workflow and unlock a new level of site understanding with Okulo AerospaceAerospace's long endurance drones.. Here's the Takeaway: Go Beyond Basic Data: Gain a comprehensive picture of your site's topography with a DTM. Informed Decision-Making: Optimize planning, excavation, and foundation design. Enhanced Communication: Facilitate collaboration and risk mitigation. Cost and Sustainability Benefits: Reduce waste and optimize earthwork operations. #ConstructionInnovation #DroneSurveys #DigitalTerrainModel #DTM #SitePlanning #ExcavationOptimization #SustainableConstruction #okuloaerospace

Want to know what I learned at Trimble Dimensions? If you don't get the basics right, none of this stuff will produce good or useful data. There was lots of new, fun and productive technology on display. ALL OF IT needs to be tied into site control, verified and set up properly for your application. The standard #surveyor's mentality of check, check and check again still applies. What really drove this home was a session on #drone data. Lots of questions on RTK and how accurate it was. How do you know? Ground control and topo check shots - the basics. When you buy up that new piece of tech start simple, learn the basics then jump into the fun features that sold you on it. The #sphere was pretty cool, too. #trimble #machinecontrol #topcon #leicageosystems #constructiontechnology #dronesinconstruction Trimble Inc. Trimble Civil Construction
