Are you celebrating your WINS? If you are High Five. If you aren’t WHY NOT? It’s amazing how many of my clients were not celebrating their wins and neither was I. We don’t realize the impact acknowledging our wins on our mindset, confidence, growth, and communication. Celebrating your wins may seem like a small act in the grand scheme of things, but its impact on personal growth and development cannot be overstated. Whether it's a major accomplishment or a small victory, taking the time to acknowledge and celebrate your successes is crucial for several reasons. READ THE BLOG HERE: https://lnkd.in/gZRSA2YR

Thought for the Day: Celebrate the Wins "The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate." - Oprah Winfrey Today marks a significant milestone in a project at work. It’s taken us over a year to prepare for and multiple years before that leading up to this step. In practice, the change will be minor. There’s little risk and multiple contingency plans if something should go wrong. But the significance of the moment is huge. You could sense the heightened levels of energy the last week as the team ran through what was about to take place. We were all doing what we could to ensure that nothing was missed. The level of scrutiny from our leaders had reached hyperdrive. As we wrapped up our preparations and space opened up in our days. The meetings leading up to this milestone came off the calendars and were replaced with new meeting. Our time and focus quickly shifted to all the remaining work that is still to come (there’s a lot of it). In fact the majority of my thoughts this morning are not about the accomplishment in front of us, but about the next problem we need to solve. It’s on to the next thing because there’s always a next thing. There will always be another problem to solve or another milestone to strive for. Striving towards something has a ton of value and merit, but if we do that at the expense of celebrating the wins along the way we miss the point. Take time to celebrate when things are worth celebrating. Acknowledge the work that has been done before we move on to the next one.

The simple things make the biggest difference. Like celebrating small wins, which Eran Mizrahi says is a big help for his company culture at ingredient brothers. While many managers are often afraid of celebrating because they don’t want people to become complacent about the long road ahead, Eran says celebrating the small wins helps balance his direct approach. Does your team celebrate the small wins? How do you balance between celebrating wins and keeping your foot on the gas when there’s still a long way to go? Share your ideas in the comments. And listen to my full interview with Eran here: https://buff.ly/3wnZ5Tm #MakeTimeToCelebrate #CompanyCulture #EmployeeEngagement

I recently made a mistake when celebrating a great month in our company. We blew away our goal and I wanted to recognize our team. Instead of just congratulating our team for their great accomplishment, I threw in the dreaded "but" at the end of it. "but, next month will most likely be much different." There was no need for me to do this. I intended to shield them from a possible letdown the following month since we always have a strong January. The "but" was not necessary at that time (and probably not at all). Celebrate your wins. Recognize the success of your team - the other stuff can wait. A well-informed team already knows of the challenges that may lie ahead and is prepared to handle them. Let celebrating your wins stand on its own. Do not dilute what your team accomplished. Interestingly, February came and they beat our target for that month as well.....and did it again in March.

Marketing Manager @ Town of Mooresville NC | Driving Growth & Engagement | Driven By Innovation | Brand Development Junkie
LINKED! No matter the size of your company, one thing is true for all.... Your success depends on the support of others. With this in mind I was proud to create "The Link Award," recognizing teamwork within the Mooresville Parks & Recreation Department. With seven divisions and over 70 employees, our group is large and spread out. Each day offers unique challenges for all. However the commonality is that we each depend on each other for the overall success of our individual goals, as well as department goals. This is THE LINK that connects us all. Each recipient has demonstrated this teamwork by supporting another person NOT in their own division. And each recipient is tasked with choosing the next award winner, with the caveat that it has to be someone outside their daily division circle who helps them achieve their goals. Recognizing and rewarding teamwork is a small way to unify your staff and remind them that all our successes are LINKED! We connect each persons photo to the next utilizing carbineers, to signify this link, the connection we all share one to the other. (and yes, faces have been covered to protect the innocent..lol) #teamwork #reward #recognition
