After a strong Q1, the foodservice and equipment industry is gaining speed that hasn’t been present since pre-2020. Foodservice Equipment & Supplies magazine reports that the top 100 distributors in the industry saw a total increase in sales over $1B in 2023 and are on track for an equally strong 2024. According to those interviewed, after several years of turbulence, things are starting to feel ‘normal’ again. Distributors are seeing account growth, new contracts but also a new business plan that incorporates the world from pre-2020 and lessons learned during the pandemic. “When the supply lines got tight, some operators had to make do by trading down to cheaper brands. That’s not necessarily the case now. While people are looking for solutions, they are cognizant of quality. They have learned that not all brands are the same. Yes, they are cost-conscious, but they are also total-cost-of-ownership conscious." - Jameel Burkett, president and CEO of Burkett Restaurant Equipment We are excited to see so many of our trusted distribution partners on this list and anticipate a great year ahead. Yesterday I was at the Foodservice Summit by Bread & Jam. It was fascinating to hear some great speakers such as Duncan O'Brien, Paul Fletcher and Lana Bhikha elaborating on the inner workings of this tricky beast. Making the leap from retail to foodservice and catering can be a challenging yet rewarding journey for food ingredient brands. 🍽️💼 Navigating through this transition comes with its own set of hurdles - from understanding the unique demands of commercial kitchens to adapting packaging and portion sizes for bulk orders, not to mention impact on supply chain... It's a whole new ball game! However, with the right strategies and partnerships, these obstacles can be turned into opportunities (Beyond Meat has nailed this!). Collaborating closely with chefs, distributors, and industry experts can provide invaluable insights and pave the way for success. Andrew Allen explained the amazing work from Bidfood UK 's Open Doors programme that is supporting smaller suppliers on their journey! At JUX Food, this is a fantastic avenue for us to explore when the time is right, leveraging our traction in retail to serve the dynamic needs of the foodservice industry.💡 #FoodIndustry #Foodservice #Catering #Innovation #Collaboration

Dynamic Sales and Marketing Leader | Driving Growth Through Strategic Innovation and Team Empowerment
Don't Interrupt The Shopping Experience When done correctly, endcap displays reduce clutter and improve customer flow. End caps (end-of-aisle) are important promotional locations in foodservice environment that rely on "retail-like" impulse sales or grab-n-go strategies to satisfy customer needs. Sales generated by items displayed at these locations are estimated to be up to 30% of total sales. The quick in-n-out consumers are most likely not going down every aisle. If you want to increase your snack, packaged foods, and drinks sales, an attractive end cap (end-of-aisle) display may be the very key piece of equipment. Reach out to me for more information.
