NOTHING IS " IMPOSSIBLE" TO ACCOMPLISH ! Simply because, I can learn by listening and recalling whatever I hear, see and/or read IRRESPECTIVE of person, place, subject, trade or circumstances that I pass by or with!
To accept and appreciate the wrong pronunciation / accent for the Spoken English Learners from the beginning is the right and the most effective method to teach and learn English to speak rapidly and fluently! Because the accent or right pronunciation issue of teaching or training culture in language learning is in fact the prime cause to create shyness, fear and disappointment among the learners and ultimately destroy their desire and dream to learn speak English and it also true for the learners of any other foreign languages are taught through English! Whereas the more languages a person will learn, the more that person could beyond the border without barrier! Again the more languages a person if be learnt; the more knowledge, wisdom, informative, competent and sensible / smart Leader would that person be!

Director of Estates & Infrastructure at University of Liverpool and Chair of the Association of University Directors of Estates (AUDE)
Today, I had the pleasure of presenting to future Directors of Estates in the university sector at the AUDE_news Summer School, focusing on the financial health of higher education institutions, and what reduced budgets will mean for Directors of Estates. The UK higher education sector generated a remarkable £46.9 billion in income during the 2021-22 academic year, yet faced a challenging deficit, leading to a total expenditure of £50.9 billion. Despite these hurdles, the sector remains a vital economic driver, contributing over £130 billion to the economy and providing talented graduates to fill 768,000 jobs over 2021-22. Strategic estate management is now more crucial than ever to ensure the sustainability of our universities. By effectively managing and prioritising our resources we can continue to provide good value to students and campus communities. Ultimately, strong estate management practices will help build more resilient institutions that can better withstand financial challenges. And when it comes to tightening purse strings, let's hope those allocating our budgets remember that well-maintained campuses are worth every penny! Some really great speakers at this years summer school: Ann Allen, Harvey Dowdy, Andy Nolan, Steve Jordan & Diana Hampson MBE, Lars Wiegand, Stephen Wells, Trevor Payne MSc FIHEEM FIWFM, Jack Waverley and facilitator Mark Swales. Well done to Corinne Merriman and Jane Harrison-White for putting together another excellent week. #HigherEducation #EstatesManagement #FinancialSustainability #FutureLeaders #EconomicImpact
Delegates to AUDE’s Summer School this year have really started to understand the mounting impact this residential programme has as we think more and more deeply about the requirements on individuals aspiring to be the estates leaders of the future. The first and perhaps best impact is by meeting such a great group of fellow delegates, finding sources of career advice that could well last for the long-term, and in bonding around group projects that will continue for the rest of this year. Our themes today have included building an inclusive directorate with Ann Allen, working with other teams and stakeholders with Lars Wiegand, working through financially tough times with AUDE Chair Syd Cottle, and how to present in ways that hold the room with Louisa Clarke. We’d love to hear from delegates. What is making an impact on you? How has Summer School helped to shape new expectations? Thinking about attending next year? Check the website to learn more and drop AUDE’s Events Manager Corinne Merriman a note to register interest. https://lnkd.in/d68paDah Jane Harrison-White

It’s summertime! The academic year at colleges and universities has concluded and our campuses have gone quiet(er) in terms of students. My 10-month faculty just went off contract on June 15th and except for those teaching summer classes, faculty offices have gone quiet(er) as well. As we look forward to vacation time with family to mentally recharge, summer can be a time to recharge professionally. Whether it is your time to read that stack of work-related books you could not get to, earn a certification, take a graduate course, or overall upskill in a new area, what is the ONE thing you want to accomplish professionally this summer? I’ll go first…I have some new certifications I need to earn in preparation for my new job here at Carroll. More on that in another post. 😊
