At AFA, sustainability and innovation walk hand-in-hand. One of the most exciting eco- innovations is refill pouches, says, John Kuijpers, AFA’s Commercial Programme Manager. ‘Dissolvable refill pouches paired with concentrates are pointing towards a potentially major waste reduction. By concentrating the end liquid solution, we can use these small dissolvable pouches, saving a huge amount of material, while offering the same strength of product. It’s a valuable innovation: consumers just have to add the pouch to the reusable bottle, simply throwing away the small bag.’ ‘It’s beneficial in other ways, too: margin-wise, it’s the same for the company, but it greatly reduces the costs for consumers. At the same time, it promotes customer loyalty, encouraging consumers to stick with your brand and repurchase the refills.
