Some interesting insights into the direction of travel for occupier wants and needs.
#ICYMI, just before Easter we interviewed four of our HBD property agent partners, getting their insights into what people really want from their homes and workspaces. The resulting articles were insightful long-reads, exploring the trends across all property genres - residential, industrial and logistics and office space - but there was a lot of commonality with wellbeing, great spaces and sustainability top of most occupiers' lists. Architecture in the Age of Likes 👍 With a priority of how to make our high streets and town centres thrive, Trevor Morriss posits whether re-energising areas with Instagram-friendly ‘moments’ is actually a question of viability, not vanity. Tapping into the cultural fibres and heritage assets that set one place apart from another is an integral part of the storytelling that underpins excellent placemaking. With a compelling narrative and context-driven design, this in turn can entice social-media savvy consumers and occupiers who will promote spaces and help to increase footfall and a sense of local community and pride. To hear more on the influence social media can have on the success of regeneration projects, read Trevor’s article in Building Design. An often-overlooked element of successful regeneration is asking the question on the validity of an ‘Instagrammable’ moment. People are drawn to environments that provide genuine destinations to eat, work and socialise, and increasingly, those that afford a photo-worthy memory. We need look no further than the heritage buildings and rich local histories that contextualise our high streets and town centres in the UK to provide such distinct spaces. In this Building Design. article, I outline why placemakers delivering for future generations should consider social media appeal in the design process: https://lnkd.in/eFgjdPbp

When we sit and chit chat over chai....... This is one of the most important Sustainability strategies in rejuvenating spaces to limit built and hence the carbon footprint of existing Cities or New Developments. At a Social level, this approach evokes a sense of ownership, belongingness, shared memories....a collective participation for its maintenance At a personal level, the engagement could be very therapeutic, alleviating loneliness, boredom, joyfulness...invoking hope for the future Cities need to rise above efficiency, optimization, computations and economy as the drivers.....and gear towards healthy (physical & mental) living as the basis and goal of design. Design for ALL After all, when we sit and chit chat over chai, reminiscing events, we remember and share experiences...compact(claustrophobic) spaces, a racing pace (anxiety), inflated costs - limited pockets (hopelessness) OR (comforting) home, the buddy we walk (& talk) with and the joy of small things that money don't buy. StudioPOD...great sharing 👏 Always feel glad to see our professional and ethical alignment ! Keep going....may you guys continue getting projects to prove these by examples. #sustainabledevelopment #carbonfootprint #engagementwithspace #therapeutic #socialcohesiveness #collectiveparticipation #joyfulcities

🎯 The Art of Social Architecture: Why Your Inner Circle Matters (And Why Everyone Else Does Too) True strength isn't about building walls—it's about designing bridges with different levels of access. Think of your social connections like a modern smart home: • Inner Circle = Your master bedroom (intimate, secure, carefully guarded) • Outer Circle = Your living room (welcoming, open, but with boundaries) Here's the golden rule: Be KIND to everyone, but SELECTIVE with your inner circle. Why? Because your inner circle: • Shapes your mindset • Influences your decisions • Impacts your growth • Affects your energy levels • Determines your direction But here's what most people get wrong: Having a selective inner circle doesn't mean being cold to others. It means: • Being respectful to all • Maintaining healthy boundaries • Sharing different levels of trust • Building genuine connections at every level • Understanding not everyone needs the master key to your life Remember: You can be exclusive with your energy while being inclusive with your kindness. Quality over quantity in your inner circle. Humanity over hierarchy with everyone else. What's your approach to balancing your inner circle with wider connections? 🤔 #PersonalGrowth #Relationships #InnerCircle #Boundaries #PersonalDevelopment #MentalWealth #CommunityBuilding
