Kudos to my new coworkers at Lumata Health! I'm very introverted and dread onboarding processes, but I actually enjoyed myself yesterday! Here's what they did that welcomed me: 1. HR sent links to the training and HR systems and let me decide how I wanted to tackle it all (with offers to help). I didn't feel rushed or like I was sitting in a classroom. I felt valued as a person and a professional. 2. HR also mixed in items like the latest newsletter so I could take a break to discover things like a video of leaders casually discussing the organization mission and values. I was able to use that to engage with coworkers instead of searching for connections through small talk. 3. My boss assigned me a couple smaller tasks in our current sprint. This meant my introduction the team was based on ability, not a one sided sharing of likes/dislikes/experiences. I don't have to search for how I fit into this team, I'm already in.

Here’s what my typical day looks like: Morning: Check in with my amazing Talent Acquisition team to discuss open requisitions and brainstorm strategies to attract the best talent. Collaboration: Throughout the day, I connect with clinical managers to understand their hiring needs and learn about the critical roles on their teams. This teamwork helps us ensure we find candidates who are dedicated and skilled, as each position impacts patient care directly. Midday Break: Enjoy a tea with our HR manager, where we chat about HR goals and the company’s broader vision. These moments remind me of the importance of teamwork and a shared vision. Candidate Connections: A large part of my day is spent speaking with candidates who are passionate about making a difference in healthcare.
