When I began my career in child welfare, specifically working with children in foster care. My naive and simplistic reason was that every child deserves a family. Then it became about empowering the family. And then how to change the monstrosity of the child welfare system. Then how to train and develop the foster care workforce. My reason doesn’t change but how I have done it has changed. But the one thing I have learned is that I can’t do it alone. I can’t do it with the team around me. It takes the entire community. Not just social workers. If you are a professor, you can do more research for children and families. If you a doctor, you can provide healing. If you a pastor, you can provide shepherding to the broken families. If you a business person you can see how your company can provide job opportunities for parents to have children returned home. If you are a teacher, you can find ways to teach the child that is unique to their learning style. I can go on and on. If you don’t know how you can help a child or a family that’s involved in foster care then drop a comment and I can help connect that for you! #fostercareawarenessmonth
It's officially the start of National Foster Care Month. This month we want to not only thank our fearless foster families and staff, but we also want to ask others to join us in this ministry. Whether that’s becoming a foster parent, getting certified to babysit foster children, or simply starting a support group for other foster families in your church — there is a lot you can do! Take this month to get engaged with foster care and ask yourself, “What can I do to help?” To learn more visit https://hubz.li/Q02tnD790.

🚫 Foster Care Myth Busted: "I’m not equipped to be a foster parent.” 🚫 Reality: None of us feel fully prepared for the unknown—but fostering is about answering God’s call to care for vulnerable children with a willing heart and trust in Him. You don’t have to do it alone. God places people in our lives to support and encourage us. At A Door of Hope, we provide the training, resources, and community you need to navigate the journey of fostering. We believe that God works through ordinary people to bring extraordinary hope and healing to children in need. The truth? Being “equipped” isn’t about having it all together—it’s about being willing to take a step of faith and open your home and heart. And when you need the extra support, we will be there to provide it. It's what we love to do! Interested in learning more? Join one of our info sessions and discover how we’ll walk with you every step of the way. 👉🏽 https://lnkd.in/edVW-9QN #FosterCare #FosterHope #FaithInAction #FosterLove
