Big news! Indy's Mile Square is sooooo close to getting its very own Economic Enhancement District (EED). This is a huge deal because Indy is the last major downtown area in the U.S. without an EED, so we're about due, right?? (Similar to when it comes to investing in the creative economy, some see the EED as a COST rather than an INVESTMENT, but that's a very short-sighted way of thinking about it.) For those who might not know, an EED is a special funding mechanism (Some will say, TAX) focused on tackling unique challenges and seizing opportunities in our central business district. The big picture is that it's all about stepping up our game to make our downtown better than ever. Raise your hand if you don't want that. 😂 Shoutout to Taylor Schaffer and the Downtown Indy, Inc. team for all of their hard work on this project and on making our downtown look and feel great. Exciting times ahead! #IndyMileSquare #EED #DowntownDevelopment #Indianapolis

A cared-for, vibrant #DowntownIndy is key to growing our businesses, attracting and retaining talent, and encouraging further investment in our capital city and the entire #IndyRegion, and the newly created Mile Square Economic Enhancement District will position #Indianapolis for a new wave of economic investment and success. Working together to prioritize and invest in our downtown will be a game-changer for our city, region, and state, and we're eager to get started—but we need your support. Show your #CareforMileSquare by adding your name to our letter to members of the Indiana General Assembly: https://lnkd.in/dUZF2Wbp

Thanks Polina for recognizing our dedication! We were so excited when they passed the measure in December! Hopefully with enough support they will not repeal this worthwhile initiative that supports everyone in Downtown Indy.
