OCD Doubt ; "What if... Madison says: Inference based cognitive behavioral therapy is a cognitive therapy that targets the obsessional doubts OCD creates through an imaginative process called the obsesssional reasoning process also known as inferential confusion. ICBT is an upstream modality that focuses on understanding how the doubts are constructed in order to first recognize how we’re getting sucked into the OCD bubble and second build on self trust to bank on you instead of banking on OCD! ICBT will teach you to trust your 5 senses, common sense, and real self the same way you do in non obsessional situations! On a personal note ICBT saved my life. To recognize how my brain was misusing information that was true to get me to believe my doubts made me feel very validated and recognize how I was getting sucked into OCD lies!! Because it’s true OCD does use information that makes sense however the problem is those reasons are being used out of context. Yes people developed schizophrenia, that is true but I have no evidence in the here and now that I am! ICBT can help you resolve your doubts and trust yourself so you don’t even feel the need need to engage in compulsions For more information about Madison, more ICBT education, or to work with her contact her via her instagram @obsessivelystrong Free webinar with her!! https://lnkd.in/dkk9Ctuq or visit us at https://lnkd.in/dkUxBYaA Let the healing begin! #clusterc #obsessivecompulsivedisorder #ocd #ocdawareness #ocdrecovery #ocdproblems #ocdhelp #ocdsupport #ocdtherapy #ocdcommunity #ocdtreatment #ocdawarenessweek #ocdrelief #ocdadvocate #obsessivecompulsive https://lnkd.in/dfjn43JE

MH professional with 16 years of experience as an outpatient counselor pursuing new opportunities that do not involve a personal clinical case load. Lived experience. Be There, LivingWorks Start, QPR certified.
This is a pretty good list. I think younger therapists lean more towards more openness in terms of self disclosure. I am saying that in general and of course there are exceptions. Also think a client should never feel as though they have the right to know things about their therapist. Just because a client may want a therapist that is more open about their personal experiences, that does not mean a therapist is obligated to provide them the answers they want. This can be for a lot of reasons. I would have liked for this article to include a little more about boundaries. Not everyone understands the boundaries of therapist is supposed to have with a client. This would include a commitment to the person's privacy and not engaging in dual role relationships. A good therapist will be very diligent about this.
