🌍🙏Every year, on the third Sunday of January is World Religion Day, a reoccurrence to celebrate the common ground shared by the world's many religions. 💧This year, it falls on January 19th, and as Frans Wijsen writes in his Blue Paper, the sacrality of water is something that is shared by many faiths. In his analysis, the author provides examples of the interplay between worship, traditions, and water practices, arguing that religion and spiritual leaders can impact sustainable water management and address the water challenges that we, as humans, are currently facing. 📌 Learn more about this insightful perspective: https://lnkd.in/dCzRqBMG #WorldReligionDay #BluePapers #SustainableWaterManagement #ReligiousWaterPractices #WaterConservation #SacredWater #FaithAndSustainability #CulturalHeritage #HumanityAndNature #CommunityEngagement #ResilientCommunities #SustainableCities #CivicEngagement #GlobalChallenges

I was sent a few links last night and I was up most of the night reading. I read that it takes 7 years to complete, if that’s the case I can appreciate that most people would not know the majority of its content. Can you please educate me? ① Is this scripture a guide for the majority mainstream followers today or is it a deviation? I understand that there are a lot of religious people today who don’t practice heavily. Some may not know the contents of scripture or laws. ② Why would we, as humans, preserve for thousands of years any parts of such perverse immorality in any form? Many explanations I read frame this as a conversation between men preserved over time and not everything should be taken literally. I even read many defending the literature stating to an effect “occasional crazy Rabbis”. Again; even if these passages aren’t the primary message of the 7 year long guide and are dismissed by the majority, these are the thoughts and interpretations of man, very evidently disgusting, unholy and unenlightened. Why on earth would we preserve such deviant filth and immorality in any form? Clearly roots the evils of Z. ③ What’s the difference between a religion and a cult? Some of these rulings in this document describe man made commandments overriding those sent down. If guidance becomes derived from these ramblings of man, have we not just raised the status of man to God? Is this not then a cult? Like the authors of these documents, I would prefer not to have to write down these thoughts and share this filth, but it’s pertinent we discuss this openly and rationally together. For the sake of the Palestinians still being brutally murdered and their children targeted daily. Thank you for the enlightenment. 🙏
